Job Description:
As a specialized physician focusing on diseases of the
respiratory tract, will be responsible for treating conditions of the lungs
(including pneumonia, asthma, tuberculosis, cancer, pulmonary hypertension
and emphysema). Will provide consulting services for patients
seeking care for pulmonary conditions in the outpatient setting. As a specialized
physician focusing on critical care, will be responsible for managing
acutely ill and unstable patients in the ICU setting, serving as an intensivist
and managing patients requiring mechanical ventilation and other
means of ventilatory support. Will perform the following procedures:
bronchoscopy BAL/brush/biopsy, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS),
transbronchial needle aspiration, bronchoscopy for airway management,
thoracentesis, paracentesis, pleural biopsy, lumbar puncture, intubations,
central venous line placement, arterial line placement, pulmonary artery
catheterization, needle thoracostomy, chest tube placement, and percutaneous
tracheostomy. Requirements: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic
Medicine degree (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) as well
as completion of 3-year U.S. Internal Medicine residency program;
two (2) year fellowship training specific to Pulmonology and Critical Care;
valid Illinois Medical License; valid Illinois Controlled Substances
License; valid DEA Registration; and Board Certification or Board
Eligibility in Pulmonary Medicine. Also requires 1) Demonstrated expertise
utilizing endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS); and, 2) Demonstrated expertise
