Job Description:

Perform design, development and specification of AC Induction and PMDC

motors. Research and present recommendations to upper-level management on

motor technologies. Support and guide junior Design Engineers. Implement

corrective action steps to resolve technical problems. Design, perform

worst case analysis, and debug AC Induction and PMDC motors. Create

drawings, specifications and test requirements. Develop specifications for

off the shelf motors and work with vendors to make sure specifications are

met. Participate in cross-functional new product development teams.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Master’s degree (or equivalent foreign education) in Electrical Engineering

or Electronics Engineering or a related field and one (1) year of

experience in electro-mechanical product design.

OR, in the alternative:

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent foreign education)in Electrical

Engineering or Electronics Engineering or a related field and five (5)

years of experience in electro-mechanical product design.

Special Requirements:

(1)Demonstrated expertise (DE) performing design and analysis for motors

using Maxwell, ANSYS, RmXprt, MATLAB, Yes and Infolytica.

(2)DE prototyping motors using ProE and AutoCAD, and interfacing with model

builders and manufacturing engineers to refine prototypes.

(3)DE debugging prototypes to ensure that models meet specifications, and

analyze and refine results.

(4)DE researching new motor findings and presenting findings to senior

management.

(Expertise may be gained during a graduate degree program.)
