Job Description:
Learning and Development Planning Specialist - (The Boston
Consulting Group, Inc. - Chicago, IL): Execute learning and development
planning activities across the North America Learning and Developing
team; support the North America Director of Consulting Team Learning and
Development in special projects and initiatives including instructional design
and development of learning content based on defined Learning and
Development priorities. Specific responsibilities include: establish and
coordinate planning process for the training activities in the region;
collaborate with Learning and Developing Operations Managers and Coaches and
compile their input into a single planning pipeline; coordinate
effective budgeting and controlling process for training activities in the region;
design and run reports and metrics for training analytics which include
financial and program performance; coordinate with other People functions
(Career Development, Staffing, Recruiting, HR) to ensure cross
functional alignment; execute and contribute to special projects that
require input from the Learning & Development team; design original learning
content and organize content development process to transform proprietary
company knowledge into effective learning resources for staff; curate,
upgrade, evolve or replace learning modules depending on their
effectiveness and on evolving business and people development needs of the company;
develop and deliver onboarding and technical trainings for Learning and
Development team members; plan and execute annual Learning & Development
team conferences, monthly calls, and additional collaboration media;
develop and maintain relations with external vendors and negotiate
contracts; act as a regional node for BCG learning management system Training
Online; collaborate with Learning & Development counterparts globally to
ensure the transfer of best practices. Requires a Bachelor's degree (or
higher) in any field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five
(5) years of experience in talent development, which must include three
(3) years of learning and development experience in a professional services
environment (experience may be gained before or after academic degree).
Domestic travel required (up to 10%). Specific skills/other requirements
(quantitative experience requirement not applicable to this section) – must
have demonstrated proficiency in the following: (i) execution of
complex projects in a matrix professional services organization; (ii)
building and controlling training budgets; (iii) design and development of
adult learning programs and content; (iv) use and maintenance of a
learning management system; (v) delivering training programs in a
professional environment; (vi) maintaining external vendor relations and
negotiating contracts; and (viii) Microsoft Excel, including advanced
analysis and management of large data sets with database functions. Must
have unrestricted authorization to work in U.S. M-F, 9:00 a.m. to
