Research Specialist - Cancer Center - Community Engagement and Health Equity (Job ID #141210) Department: Cancer Center/Community Engagement and Health Equity Category: Academic Professional Location: Chicago Close Date: 02/15/2021 Description: The University of Illinois Cancer Center--is seeking candidates for a--Research Specialist position. This position will support multiple research projects devoted to the--Office of Community Engagement and Health Equity (CEHE). This position also assists Research Scientists/Principal Investigators with planning and implementing community outreach programs, support research project implementation and recruitment efforts, disseminating culturally and linguistically relevant cancer materials and research project findings, and writing progress reports to funding agency and various stakeholders. Duties:

• Lead the coordination and training of conducting outreach and education activities for community health educators, CEHE team members and volunteers.
• Conduct education activities in community settings.
• Development of standard trainings and education materials that are evidence based and culturally tailored.
• Develop community assessments and implementation plans as needed.
• Coordinate project activities with principle investigators, clinical and project staff related to active research projects.
• Responsible for monitoring engagement requests and identified outcomes metrics.
• Report data for quarterly reports and assist with qualitative data collection.
• Create and implement engagement activity plans and evaluating activity success.
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in social science or related field required. Master's degree in social science preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years related research experience.
  • Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods.
