The Sr. Financial Long Range Planning & Capital Strategy Analyst is
responsible for providing critical operational and financial
support to UPG's Divisional VP Finance. This highly visible role is
responsible for supporting day-to-day business, partnering with the
operations team, as well as driving best-in-class improvements in
process and analytical capabilities. This will require a
side-by-side partnership with Senior Leadership and the various
leaders responsible for the success and profitability of UPG's
portfolio companies.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Actively participate in monthly business reviews and provide
analytical support (focused on strategic insights) to the
commercial and operational leadership teams
Monitor and develop new performance indicators, highlighting trends
and analyzing causes of unexpected variances
Look one step ahead - help build UPG's 3-5 year plans -
comprehensive financial models including detailed and sensitized
business plans
Evaluating financial returns to current and potential
lenders/investors
Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision
support
Increase productivity by developing and refining automated
reporting and forecasting tools
Lead and assist with other special projects as necessary
Identify the drivers of financial performance on a facility level
basis
Assist with the creation and refinement of forecasting templates to
improve the accuracy, efficiency, and consistency of the
forecasting process across UPG portfolio companies
Leverage organizational reporting tools (budgeting software,
Tableau, etc.) to update forecasted performance throughout the
year
Position Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related
quantitative discipline required
3+ years of Financial Analysis or related experience
Strong work ethic geared toward enacting change and a "whatever it
takes" mentality, understanding there is meaningful opportunity to
have an impact on the business
Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management
software.
An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Tableau and other data visualization tools is a
plus
