Job Description:
Open to Chicago-Area Candidates Who Can Be Onsite Occasionally,
As Needed Level Ex is on a mission to advance the practice of
medicine through play. We bring together top game designers,
biomedical engineers, 3D artists, medical professionals, and user
experience experts to create neuroscience-backed games that let
healthcare professionals advance their clinical skills, earn CME,
and keep up-to-speed on industry breakthroughs. We're now looking
for a Senior Accountant to be part of our Finance and Accounting
team with excellent analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of
accounting principles to efficiently analyze and create financial
reports and forecasts. Working under the direction of the
Controller, with a dotted line to the CFO, this role will prepare
and record journal entries, prepare month-end reconciliations and
analysis and assist with data validation to generate actionable
financial insights to support operational and strategic decision
making. Role and Responsibilities Ensure that balance sheet and
general ledger accounts are accurately maintained and reconciled
Assist in producing timely and accurate monthly financial
statements in GAAP and IFRS Support the month-end close process -
prepare work papers, journal entries, and draft financial
statements for review by the Controller Responsible for the timely
and accurate recognition of revenue in compliance with ASC 606
Establish and maintain cost accounting model to ensure the accurate
calculation of unit cost for services related to a specific job or
project Oversee accounts payable and receivable Report on costs,
revenue, productivity, margins, and expenditures and offer insight
and recommendations Perform monthly balance sheet, income
statement, and changes in financial position/budget variance
analyses Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules Prepare
federal, state, local, and special tax returns as needed Review
expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company guidelines
Perform other accounting duties and supervise junior staff as
required or assigned Prepare data for submission of 1099 annual
forms Assist with annual audit preparations Prepare weekly cash
flow projections Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting
required 3 plus years of accounting experience Strong understanding
of GAAP accounting, financial analysis standards, and best
practices-IFRS experience a plus Experience with Lease Accounting
(ASC 842) Experience with Revenue Recognition (ASC606) Experience
with cost accounting preferred Strong financial analysis skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills Organized and highly
detailed oriented Ability to train and manage staff Innovative
mindset with a "roll up the sleeves" attitude Experience with data
validation and management Technical & Bonus Experience QuickBooks,
SAP - Plus Proficiency in Microsoft Office with expertise in Excel
