- The Impact You Will Have Reporting to the Head of Financial
Closing & Reporting, as Senior Accountant II, you will support the
accounting activities for the close and consolidation of North
American entities' financial statements for AGCS. Responsibilities
include preparing IFRS and Statutory financial statements,
including audited financial statements for insurance &
non-insurance affiliates, ensuring compliance with accounting
policies, monitoring company processes, and completing assigned
project work. This role will be a vital member of the Financial
Reporting team, ensuring efficient financial reporting and
consolidation processes. Some of your specific responsibilities
could include: Accounting and Reporting
- Prepares monthly financial statements on an IFRS basis,
including completion of ECCS submissions to AGCS
- Prepares quarterly and annual Statutory financial statements
(Yellow books) for the insurance companies
- Completes reconciliations between IFRS and Statutory reporting.

- Drafts Footnote disclosures and management discussions and
analysis for regulatory reporting.
- Prepares consolidated audited financial statements and
coordinates audit requests within Finance,and other functions. -
Governance & Quality Assurance
- Monitor changes to IFRS reporting requirements and ensure
compliance with accounting policy
- Participates in daily close meetings and assists in monitoring
timeliness of close processes and identifying items for discussion
or resolution.
- Identify and execute on process improvements to minimize manual
efforts and focus on automation or semi-automation of
processes
- Manage to the data quality standards within the team to meet
regulatory requirements and internal reporting needs
- Archive records to satisfy audit and statutory requirements.
Analysis and reviews
- Assist internal clients (e.g. other departments) with reports,
research and other activities.
- Key contact for other functions regarding accounting results,
processes, and internal controls
- Drive both global and local initiatives as needed
- Correspond and answer inquiries with third-party entities,
including auditors, business units, tax authorities, public
authorities, and others What You'll Bring to the Role
- 3-5 years of experience with Financial Statement
preparation
- 3-5 years relevant insurance accounting experience, including
knowledge of US Statutory, GAAP and IFRS.
- Computer literacy required; Strong knowledge of MS Office 365
(Excel, Access & database tools)
- Knowledge of IFRS/GAAP/Statutory Accounting, with an emphasis
on financial reporting.
- Ability to understand, elaborate and convey information clearly
and effectively in respect of the audience / level of management
(both verbal and in writing)
- Ability to identify patterns and root causes in complex data
and processes to rapidly distill key issues and provide insight in
various situations; ability to identify and initiate appropriate
actions to remediate issues that can be abstract/ambiguous and
follow through on their remediation.
- Ability to work across teams (in and outside of CFO) and in
virtual teams and being able coordinate team members without
authority, able to influenced without authority
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
degree
- CPA preferred The annualized base pay range for this role is
$75,409 - $128,400. The annual base salary range represents Chicago
market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and
will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope,
complexity and location of the role; the skills, education,
training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay
is just one component of the AGCS total compensation package. As
part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits
programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based
