It is the result of sound decision making, based on data-driven analysis and disciplined thinking, and guided by the fundamental principles of corporate finance.The PositionsKaufman, Hall & Associates, LLC, is seeking qualified finance professionals to join the Partnerships, -Mergers & Acquisitions team comprised of a group of executives who have been involved in hundreds of strategic transaction advisory engagements, and have participated in many of the largest, most significant and innovative hospital and health system transactions. -Using a comprehensive and integrated approach to strategic healthcare partnerships, we provide a range of services to healthcare companies, including buy-side advisory, joint venture advisory, sell-side advisory, strategic options assessments, and valuations/fairness opinions.Depending on the years of experience, qualified candidates will be expected to work closely with the Managing Directors and Senior Vice Presidents on client engagements providing strategic services to our clients. -This position demands a strong transactional background and experience leading all aspects of a deal with minimal oversight. - -Our Level Construct:

  • Managing DirectorsThe ideal candidate, regardless of level, will be one who is capable of working closely with other team members on client engagements, providing strategic and financial-related services to our clients. Depending on the years of experience one brings there are opportunities to lead client engagements with minimal oversight, present to senior management teams and boards and be able to drive the organization to decisions around critical issues, simultaneously managing multiple client engagements with a variety of staff. -There is a business development expectation starting at the Vice President Level.Primary Responsibilities: -
    • Support or lead multiple PM&A engagements at any given time depending on one's level -
    • Assume accountability for client interfaces and presentations and ensure overall project/transaction quality
    • Over time, expand thought leadership at Kaufman Hall and within the healthcare industry through the creation of intellectual capital
    • Provide technical support, leadership and oversight on client engagements related to all transactions -
    • Function not only as a subject matter expert, manager of teams and provider of project direction, but also as a consultant capable of delivery of work
    • On Sell-side engagements: -oversee financial modeling exercises and development of offering memorandums and buyer lists, lead calls to prospective buyers, and conduct all board/management presentations. -On Buy-side engagements: -drive the outcome of junior staff's strategic and financial evaluation through market research, financial modeling and valuation analysis and assist direct team's responses to requests for proposals and presentations to the target organizations
    • Leverage one's experience developing and understanding financial models and valuations of healthcare providers using the discounted cash flow approach, transaction approach, publicly traded comparable approach or any other valuation approaches
    • Support and lead other internal projects as directed
    • Bring creative ideas and different viewpoints to client engagements
    • Deliver high quality work with integrityQualifications:The ideal candidate will join us with a solid background in Investment Banking from a leading healthcare M&A practice. -In addition, the successful candidate will possess the following: -
      • Excellent quantitative and financial modeling skills
      • Solid technical and analytical computer skills including excellent Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word software skills
      • Willingness and ability to travel, at times on short notice
      • Current permanent US work authorization required
      • Excellent interpersonal skills and good presentation skills
      • A career-motivated professional who is energetic and possesses a superb work ethic
      • A high degree of integrity and strong moral and ethical standards
      • Current Permanent US Work Authorization RequiredEducation:
        • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or multiple years of direct M&A experience preferred at the AVP, VP and SVP levels - -Physical requirements: -
          • Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.
          • Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing and typing. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. -Work Environment -
            • Travel Required: Occasional 0-15%.
            • The role is based in Chicago (preferred) or remote.
            • Work is regularly performed in a combination of office, home office, and client settings, and routinely uses standard office equipment.
