Job Description:
BASIC JOB FUNCTION Under the direction of the Director of
Finance, the Staff Accountant is responsible for the
reconciliations of A/R, accrued revenue, deferred revenue,
restricted net assets, and other balance sheet accounts as assigned
to ensure the accuracy of the financial statements. This position
will also assist with the monthly preparation and analysis of the
individual entity and consolidated financial statements, budgets,
audit, and information returns (Form 990). They will also be
responsible for periodic evaluation and improvement of financial
policies and procedures related to the various tasks needed for
accurate production of financial statements and supporting
schedules.Together with the Director of Finance, he/she will
prepare presentations in support of board and monthly/quarterly
senior leadership meetings, and various regulatory and Financial
and performance reporting.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Reconcile the Accounts Receivable, Deferred Revenue, Contribution,
and Accrued Revenue accounts to ensure the balances are accurate.
Reconcile Restricted Net Assets to ensure proper recording of any
restricted contributions and release of restrictions are recorded.
Reconcile other assigned Balance Sheet accounts to source
documentation. Prepare journal entries to record revenue accruals
or other estimates and reclassifications as needed. Prepare
assigned month-end closing reports. POSITION DESCRIPTION: Assist
with preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements and
variance reporting. Assist with the annual audit including
preparation of audit schedules and retrieving support related to
audit samples requested by external auditors. Assist with the
preparation of annual information tax returns (990's) and corporate
reporting requirements. Assist with gathering information needed to
complete the annual budget (both internal and grant). Assists the
Director of Finance in developing and executing standardized
financial reporting cycles for different internal and external
audiences to support effective decision making. Assist with the
creation of report formats to be used for more effective financial
analysis. Retrieves and consolidates data from multiple systems
into financial models to identify and reconcile discrepancies;
recommends solutions to efficiently organize data for future uses,
ensuring that corrections or changes are implemented properly.
Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls. Other
related duties and departmental coverage as assigned.

ExperienceOne (1) year of industry experience in public accounting,
not-for-profit, mortgage brokering, or real estate environment.
Progress in attaining a CPA is a plus.Computer SkillsTo perform
this job successfully, an individual should exhibit a high degree
of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced background in
Excel formulas and data manipulation required. Good working
knowledge of business intelligence applications.Special Knowledge
