Your OpportunityThe Supply Chain Finance team is seeking out
driven, detail-oriented professionals to exercise GAAP principles
while preserving the superior financial standing of our company.
These personnel examine financial data for accurate costing, trends
and opportunities, and performance against target. The Analyst will
be responsible for analysis within the functional areas of the
supply chain, including transportation, warehouse and inventory
planning related transactions. Salary Range $54,000 - $79,750 Core
Responsibilities
Prepare, review and distribute monthly financial reports for the
transportation and warehousing division of Smithfield Foods.
Determines cost of operations by establishing standard costs;
collecting operational data.
Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual
results with plan and forecast.
Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies
and procedures; providing trends; explaining processes and
techniques; recommending actions.
Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making
comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods.
Responsible for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close for
assigned functional areas.
Protects operations by keeping financial information
confidential.
Assist in developing management reports through functional
knowledge of our ERP system, including the following: SAP BI, SAP
BPC & SAP General Ledger, as well as our transportation system.
Prepare ad-hoc reports and potential assignment to special
studies/teams to assist management in evaluating key opportunities
for the company.
Compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley internal reporting
requirements.

perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or
university in Accounting, Finance or Economics and 2 years'
experience in reporting, consolidation and financial analysis; or
equivalent combination of education and experience .
Prior accounting/GAAP knowledge.
Experience in CPG industry is a plus.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel &
Access).
Knowledge of data analytics systems and reporting functionality is
a plus.
Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical
skills.
