/n/n /n The role you'll contribute: /n /n/n /n Under supervision,
the Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs a variety of technical
procedures in the utilization of radionuclides for the diagnosis
and treatment of disease in humans. The role involves independently
performing Radiographic Imaging procedures, handling, preparing,
calculating dosage, and administering radionuclides and
interventional medications under the direction of an authorized
user such as a radiologist or cardiologist. This position assumes a
variety of responsibilities that will require independent judgment,
ingenuity, initiative, and the ability to adapt to adverse
situations. The technologist is authorized and commits to
delivering quality care to patients ranging from pediatric to
geriatric, ensuring patient safety and adhering to safety standards
that keep radiation exposure as low as reasonably achievable. The
Nuclear Medicine Technologist is also responsible for maintaining
records in accordance with departmental and state requirements,
assisting the radiation safety officer as needed, and responsible
for patient transportation to the imaging room. The position
entails positioning patients appropriately to obtain quality
diagnostic images for interpretation via PACS system by the
technologist and assisting Radiologists or other clinical staff
during procedures. Additionally, the role includes performing
clerical duties, assisting in the radiology department as needed,
performing basic patient care within scope of practice and to
departmental standards, and possibly marketing Nuclear
Medicine/PET-CT to physician referrers. The technologist is
responsible for adhering to the Corporate Compliance plan, the
rules and regulations of all local, state, and federal agencies,
and the standards of all accrediting bodies. The position
contributes significantly to the mission and goals of the
department by providing professional quality Nuclear Medicine
imaging services in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner,
acting as a clinical resource to unit personnel, and assuring
current standards of practice for the unit. This role actively
participates in outstanding customer service and accepts
responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally

room neat, supplies well stocked, and equipment prepared for the
next patient, initiating and documenting work order requests for
any malfunctioning equipment. /n /n - Plans and manages time to
accurately perform and enter all required quality control, patient
radionuclide administration data, and exam charges into the Nuclear
Medicine Information System and Order Communication System in a
timely manner. /n /n - Confirms proper examination/patient
assignment on images before releasing images for interpretation,
follow up to correct any erroneous accession numbers in the
applicable system, and notify appropriate personnel when
transmitting "after hours" exams. /n /n - Identifies patients using
approved guidelines to confirm patient/exam accuracy before
continuing with patient examination. /n /n - Reviews and ensures
physician requests meet clinically valid exam indicator
requirements. /n /n - Prepares appropriate radionuclide for
procedures, explains procedures to patients, and aseptically
administers radionuclides using universal BSI principles. /n /n -
Ensures equipment meets all quality control requirements and
performs patient examinations utilizing age-specific care
techniques in a safe and responsible manner, evaluating image
quality for good technical and diagnostic detail. /n /n -
Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to
ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care. /n /n -

Medicine procedures demonstrating proficiency with camera
acquisition and computer processing, adapting to new technology,
and helping develop the knowledge and competency of coworkers and
