Job DescriptionPosition OverviewMorey is seeking a talented, detail-oriented and visionary Controller to lead the accounting function at its global headquarters in Woodridge, IL. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller functions as a business partner with the entire company to effectively manage and control business processes and their impact on the financials. The Controller leads the accounting staff and is responsible for the month-end financial close, general accounting, payables, receivables, cost accounting, business analysis and financial reporting. This position will also liaise with the executive team and ownership, as required. The Controller will identify areas of concern and propose resolutions. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, understanding of GAAP and the ability to manage competing priorities.Essential Functions:Lead, develop and mentor the finance team to achieve a high level of performance.Deliver accurate and timely internal/external financial results and KPI's with a thoughtful analysis of the drivers.Work with the CFO to optimize business control and process efficiency across the company to improve operating results.Partner with other business leaders to provide an excellent level of customer serviceSupport treasury, banking and business insurance effortsDrive working capital initiatives, monitor & project cash flows and ensure control over capital expenditures.Evaluate need for additional/enhanced metrics to provide feedback to the organizationAnalyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts.Responsible for income, sales and property tax management.Evolve cost accounting processes to meet company needs.Serve as primary liaison to the independent auditors, ensuring successful audit completion.Required Qualifications (Minimum Basic Qualifications):Bachelor's degree in accounting or financeMinimum of seven (7) years of accounting experienceExperience working in a manufacturing environment Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skillsProficient in MS Office suite of tools (including Access Databases)Desired Attributes (Things that will put you ahead):Some public accounting experience HIGHLY preferredExperience with an ERP ImplementationExperience working in a manufacturing environment with engineering consultancy experience a bonusMBA or equivalent a plusDeep ERP understandingSkills and Abilities:Strong analytical and operational acumenContinuous improvement mentalityStrong sense of urgencySolid understanding of GAAPBalance the need from competing prioritiesTeam player, common sense & visionCompany DescriptionAbout the CompanyFounded in 1934, The Morey Corporation is a family owned, privately held, global leader in designing and manufacturing innovative technology solutions in the Wireless Communications, IoT (Internet of Things) and Fuel Efficiency sectors.
