Position Summary:The Marketing Specialist is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of strategic marketing initiatives across the organization, with a primary focus of social media, graphic design, and digital marketing initiatives. Reporting directly to the Senior Marketing Specialist, this position requires an experienced individual with a proven ability to develop and manage effective social media strategies, create compelling graphics and written content for use across a variety of channels, and an exceptional ability to adapt to the ever-changing marketing landscape and analyze veterinary industry trends, developing new skills as needed.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works alongside Marketing team members to implement marketing and branding strategies at the corporate level
  • Manages corporate social media content by developing a strategic content calendar, writing copy, creating supporting graphics, and monitoring channel performance
  • Serves as a graphic design resource for corporate projects, including but not limited to, digital and print materials, event materials, internal programs, and presentations, etc.
  • Manages monthly employee newsletter by gathering information, creating graphics, writing copy, and distributing digital newsletter to corporate team members
  • Oversees company's online presence, including social media accounts, online reputation sites, and company website.
  • Manages day-to-day marketing-related online stores and platforms, assisting with user experience and catalog updates
  • Manages day-to-day marketing-related tasks within the company intranet
  • Writes, proofreads, and edits creative and technical content across different mediums
  • Analyzes marketing campaign data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic, etc.), providing reports and metrics as requested by department and company leadership
  • Conducts market research and analyze trends to identify new marketing opportunities
  • Updates website content as needed, provide enhancements for SEO, and stay up to date with best practices for website content and user experience
  • Continuously seek new opportunities to strengthen brand awareness and build relationships within the veterinary industry
  • Assists in management of enterprise-wide integrated marketing campaigns across offline and online channels
  • Maintains awareness on best practice marketing techniques/tools
  • Manages various marketing projects with ability to prioritize tasks, meet project deadlines and communicate and distribute project information to relevant stakeholders
  • Assists in development of junior marketing team members by providing training and guidance on marketing-related processes and programs, as needed
  • Provides administrative support for various corporate-level projects and initiatives
  • Acts as company representative at industry events, as needed
  • Acts as a brand steward for all entities across the Blue River PetCare organization
  • Adheres to the company's policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including special projectsBasic Skills and Qualifications:
    • 2+ years of previous experience in a Marketing role (internships will not serve as a substitute for this requirement)
    • Ability to provide a portfolio of relevant work experience, including samples of graphic design pieces, social media posts, and writing samples
    • Strong graphic design, writing/editing, and creative skills
    • Strong working knowledge of current digital marketing practices including social media, email marketing, and SEO
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills
    • Flexibility and drive to meet tight deadlines, assist on multiple projects and prioritize them appropriately
    • Ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization
    • Highly professional, with strong work ethic and self-direction
    • Veterinary industry experience or ability to develop a strong working knowledge of the industryTechnical Skills:
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
      • Proficiency in content creation tools, such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva
      • Proficiency in management of social networking sites, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
      • Strong knowledge of various marketing and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, CRM systems, content management systems
      • Working knowledge of project management tools, such as Monday and Basecamp
      • Exceptional writing skills, including composition, grammar, and spelling
      • Excellent verbal communication skills
      • Exceptional time management and organization skillsEducation Requirements:
        • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred; or 5+ years of relevant work experiencePhysical Requirements:
          • Remain in a seated position at least 75% of the time
          • Ability to navigate around the office to access file cabinets, supplies, office machinery, etc.
          • Ability to communicate with others via in-person verbal communication, as well as frequent emails and phone calls. Must be able to exchange clear, accurate information in these situations
          • Ability to utilize a computer, keyboard and mouse when working
          • Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs
          • Must be able to travel domestically via plane and motor vehicle as neededWork Location:
