The Vice President Client Marketing position is a senior level marketer who drives growth, consumer sales penetration, and profitability with a focus on our largest retail clients and industry client groups within the Payment Solutions business unit.
The position owns a portfolio of clients and partners with them to develop and execute a two-pronged strategy—one which builds an in-store everyday consumer credit culture as well as driving repeat consumer spend and loyalty. Reaching consumers with a strong digital channel focus within a multi-segment consumer strategy will be critical.
The position will assist in driving our overall market/brand strategy relative to our Furniture/Electronics industry segment and serve as a key marketing catalyst between sales, analytics, and cardholder marketing teams.
Essential Responsibilities: Own and maintain relationship with client Marketing team and other key client decision makers. Assess client needs, business goals, and opportunities. Jointly create and execute a growth plans to align with the overall client business strategy. Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive marketing calendar for assigned retail partners containing actionable and innovative marketing strategies for internal (client associates) and external (consumers) constituencies to achieve growth goals. Drive testing and constant campaign performance analytics to better understand how to efficiently drive results. Lead consumer behavior and competitive intelligence efforts to develop strong, simple, and differentiated consumer value propositions. This includes promotional financing, rewards programs, and special discounts and benefits. Lead industry segment digital strategy and partner with Digital teams to execute digital communication strategies (SEO, SEM, email, social media) Introduce new ideas and concepts to drive consumer growth and strengthen partner relationships. Educate internal teams and partners on market conditions and opportunities and proactively drive change. Jointly with Sales drive and communicate all key metrics pertaining to the performance of the client portfolios (sales, new accounts, repeat purchase percentage, consumer e-mail enrollment, e-partner integration, penetration, and return.) Create, build, and maintain a collaborative partnership with sales, risk, finance, collections, and operations to drive overall results. Optimize discretionary marketing expenditures, client contractual funds, and client budgets to grow the business. Continuously track spending to ensure programs are executed efficiently to stay within budget. Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or, in lieu of degree, 14 years of marketing experience A minimum of 8 years of total marketing experience consisting of at least: consumer marketing experience strategic planning/strategic marketing experience digital marketing experience (Web, SEM, email, social media) client relationship management Desired Characteristics: MBA with a concentration in marketing Proven ability to drive business results--executes against plan and delivers Ability to manage multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously Analytical skills (includes segmentation and targeting strategies) Champion of marketing metrics and program measurement Credit card or other financial services marketing experience Retail store experience Significant experience collaborating with internal sales teams and retail partners Strong presentation skills Ability to influence across all levels of organization
