POSITION SUMMARY: The Sr. Analyst is an integral part of the marketing brand analytics team that influences business decisions focused on several of Ulta Beautys strategic brand partners. The Sr. Analyst will take the lead on delivering data-driven customer insights, including the development and delivery of in-depth brand analyses and presentations, to aid in decisions pertaining to customer behavior and customer-centric marketing strategies. CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Develop a strong partnership and collaboration with Ulta Beauty merchants and brand partners, performing as a team member who consults with the brands and the corresponding merchants on how to attain the business goals by leveraging customer data and insights. 2. Analyze Ulta Beauty customer behavioral data, demographics, segmentation, and market basket data and transform it into meaningful insights for the benefit of the strategic brands and the corresponding merchants. 3. Utilize existing brand dashboard templates to present analysis and actionable insights to both Ulta Beauty merchant and strategic brand audiences across various levels (up through C-level leadership) within their organizations. 4. Anticipate trends to unlock business opportunities for Ulta merchants and strategic brand partners. 5. Extract member data, including customer profile info, campaign response, and transaction data, from existing Ulta Beauty systems, using complex SQL queries and building visual and enticing Tableau dashboards. 6. Continually look for ways to improve analytics processes, deliverables, and brand presentations. 7. Ensure data integrity by leveraging proven methodologies, including data reconciliation, data integration and data audits. 7 years of experience developing business strategies resulting from quantitative marketing analytics/data mining and presenting those results to the client/business partner. Experience in retail or CPG industry a plus. BA/BS degree in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Business or related analytical degree or experience. Proven command of SQL and data visualization tools such as Tableau, deep knowledge of relational databases and MS Excel/PowerPoint. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills - must be able to communicate complex ideas in both technical and user-friendly language. Excels in building partnerships and providing customer service to the brand partners and merchants. Capable of working in a dynamic environment, handling multiple projects, meeting deadlines, prioritizing appropriately and responding to issues quickly and creatively with an open and positive attitude. Outstanding analytical, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to present analytics to a wide range of constituents in a relatable and understandable manner. Energetic and self-motivated - must be extremely organized and detail oriented with an ability to make proactive recommendations. PREFERRED OR SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS SQL, MS Excel/PowerPoint, Tableau. Ability to communicate to a variety of levels and technical/non-technical audiences. Strong sense of curiosity and storytelling. Outstanding data visualization skills.
