Job Description Job Description Ready to join a team where your work truly drives results? As our project pipeline expands, Synergy is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. With 16 years as a general contractor and developer, we’re looking for a strategic thinker—someone who goes beyond numbers to shape project outcomes from day one. You’ll play a key role in project buyout and ensure a smooth handoff from preconstruction to operations. Your expertise will directly influence our ability to win work, serve clients, and execute projects seamlessly. What You’ll Do - Core Responsibilities Develop accurate, detailed cost estimates and takeoffs and support all phases of preconstruction. Conduct site visits and evaluate project scope, risks, and cost drivers. Lead or support the buyout process, including reviewing and finalizing subcontractor scopes, confirming pricing, and negotiating terms. Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to understand the full scope of work. Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing using takeoff tools and historical cost data. Develop bidder lists, issue RFPs, level bids, negotiate pricing, and manage full subcontractor buyout. Incorporate safety requirements and high-risk considerations into estimates and subcontractor scopes. Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies. Maintain organized estimating files, pricing databases, and subcontractor documentation. Work closely with architects, engineers, subcontractors, clients, and internal partners including teammates as well as project managers, and superintendents. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (required). Minimum three (3) years of experience in construction estimating for a General Contractor (required). Strong understanding of construction means and methods across multiple building types. Proficiency with estimating/takeoff software such as Sage Timberline, Bluebeam, On?Screen Takeoff, or Planswift. Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and project management platforms such as Procore, Sage Masterbuilder. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team setting. Detail?oriented mindset with strong mathematical, analytical and problem?solving abilities. Experience with design?build, conceptual estimating, or negotiated work is a plus.
