Innovation Textiles Engineer

The Innovation Product (Textiles) Engineer will bring hands-on
technical expertise to the design, development, and manufacturing
of Personal Protective Equipment. The ultimate goal is to develop
innovative technologies and products that improve comfort,
protection and performance in the categories of protective apparel
and hand protection. The position is responsible for conducting
material research, generating concepts, refining product solutions,
developing, and maintaining strategic innovation partnerships, and
preparing products for commercialization. This position will lead
Magid's innovation pipeline.
Designs, develops, and enhances new and existing products/product
Evaluates and recommends specifications and ensures products meet
the technical and functional requirements
Recommends and follows reliable, efficient, and cost-effective
Performs feasibility, functional, and quality testing of
Works with other members of the engineering staff to ensure project
milestones are met and that projects are completed according to
Leverage Magid's manufacturing capabilities to develop new material
technologies and product concepts
Utilize industry trends and innovations in new product
Serve as the project manager of Magid's innovation pipeline by
managing timelines, costs and performance criteria
Travel to customers, study specific safety issues and develop
Work with material vendors and consultants to understand their
capabilities and constraints and translate this information into
new product concepts
Research new equipment, tools, and processes utilized to execute
Demonstrate a high level of influence and cross-functional
partnership with Product Management, Sales, Manufacturing, Supply
Chain, Marketing, and Quality
The ability to lead negotiations with suppliers to ensure best
quality, service, and cost to achieve business objectives
Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering discipline Required
5-7 years' experience in product development and design
High level of knowledge of knit and cut and sewn development and
manufacturing; experience in apparel preferred
Thorough understanding of textile engineering principles,
practices, and tools
Proficient in computer-assisted design (CAD) and other design, data
recording, and analyzation software.
Thorough understanding of safety regulations related to assigned
Ability to identify and solve complex problems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to be both creative and analytical.
Extremely detail-oriented and accurate.
Excellent Communication and Presentation skills
Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple
assignments and meet deadlines

Magid is working a "Hybrid" work week schedule meaning 3 days a
week in the Romeoville (IL) office, 2 days remote. Therefore, you
must be able to commute to Romeoville as required and/or as
