    The Senior IT Operations Engineer reports to the Director of Information Systems and will play an integral role at Talis. We're seeking out a cross-functional thinker who has a profound drive to provide world-class customer support and build best in class IT systems. The successful candidate for this position must be passionate, motivated and confident. Primary responsibilities include onboarding & offboarding, assisting Talis staff with technical support issues and system administration. While a public company Talis still has that start-up culture and this role has the ability to influence the foundation of Talis's IT systems and make a direct impact.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Provide IT support to Talis employees & contractors in both our Chicago, IL and remote offices
    • Maintain onsite IT infrastructure (networking, VOIP, video conferencing, and servers)
    • Onboard and offboard Talis employees & contractors
    • Identifies operational problems by observing and studying the functioning and performance of systems.
    • Develops operational solutions by defining, studying, estimating, and testing alternative approaches.
    • Implement / maintain SaaS applications and associated integrations
    • Implement innovative and automated approaches for tasks
    • Work with management to develop IT policies as the organization matures
    • Adhere to and enforce IT policies
    • Work with cyber partners to address any issues that arise
    • Manage IT inventory
    • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading publications, and participating in professional organization Education, Knowledge & Experience
      • 7+ years overall Information Technology experience in a corporate environment
      • 3+ years in a Desktop Support/Systems Administrator capacity
      • 2+ years experience troubleshooting switches, firewalls, VPN, and VoIP
      • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
      • Strong knowledge of MacOS & Windows operating systems
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Azure & O365 administration
      • Experience with supporting an enterprise level video conferencing system
      • Experience with Mobile Device Management, HDD encryption and managed user accounts
      • Experience with Web Services and API-based integrations
      • Must possess and demonstrate strong organizational, prioritization and problem-solving skills
      • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
      • Available for on-call support when required
      • Able to lift 40 lbs Preferred Qualifications
        • Linux / Unix administration experience
        • Proficiency in one or more common programming languages
        • VMWare Workspace One and CrowdStrike experience
        • Atlassian administration experience
        • CRM & ERP administration experience
        • Experience with Meraki hardware, software and dashboard
        • Experience with Zoom video conferencing
