In support of our shift to a cloud-first strategy, we are seeking a
Senior Cloud Engineer to help build and deliver a market leading,
enterprise-class cloud ecosystem. As a senior cloud engineer, you
will partner closely with our application development and data
science teams, and work collaboratively with Infrastructure to
select, build, and configure the right technologies and platforms
to enable accelerated development and/or migration of applications.
You will primarily be focusing on observability, performance,
reliability, security, continuity, and resiliency. The cloud
engineering team takes an Infrastructure-as-Code approach to
building in the cloud and strives for automation wherever/whenever
possible. The senior cloud engineer will be crucial in accelerating
speed to market and innovation while ensuring that we are adhering
to security and compliance principles and building highly available
systems. \nThis role may be located in Eden Prairie, Kansas City,
Chicago, or Seattle.\n Responsibilities: \n* Lead the design and
implementation of complex Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions
using Terraform, including the creation of custom modules and
plugins\n* Build automation and pipeline capabilities for delivery
of platforms and infrastructure\n* Oversee and ensure production
readiness of new technologies/systems\n* Troubleshoot and resolve
complex infrastructure issues in a timely manner, including root
cause analysis and problem resolution\n* Maintain documentation of
infrastructure architecture and configurations, including the
creation of technical guides and best practices\n* Participate in
cross-training, architectural design, capacity planning, and
recommendations for future state\n* Partner with community on
best-practices, patterns, and practices for leveraging different
technologies, and ensure adoption within teams\n* Assist with
engineering efforts to reduce occurrence of failures, and ensure
coping strategies are in place for failures\n* Identify
monitoring/alerting/observability needs, and influence team culture
to bring this rigor into the daily development cycle\n* Partner
with AppDev and infrastructure teams on evaluation and feasibility
assessment of new systems and technologies\n* Stay up to date with
new technologies and best practices in cloud engineering\n* Mentor
and provide technical guidance to junior team members\n Required
Qualifications: \n* 7+ years of technology experience with steadily
increasing responsibilities\n* 2+ years of enterprise experience
with cloud development, and/or maintaining, supporting, and
deploying to cloud environments\n* Expert level knowledge of
Terraform and IaC principles, including the ability to design and
implement advanced Terraform configurations\n* Experience with at
least one major cloud provider (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)\n*
Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. Python,
Ruby, Go), with the ability to write custom automation scripts and
plugins\n* Strong ability to build custom cloud tooling and
automation scripts, including the ability to integrate third-party
tools and services\n* Strong problem solving and critical thinking
skills, including the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex
technical issues\n* Proven mentorship experience\n* Bachelor's
degree or equivalent work experience and a high school
diploma/GED\n Preferred Qualifications: \n* Experience with the
Microsoft Azure ecosystem\n* Certification in one or more major
cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure
Certified Solutions Expert, Google Cloud Certified Professional
Cloud Architect)\n* Proficiency with containerization, and
container orchestration - preferably Kubernetes\n* Experience with
continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines\n*
Strong Linux operating systems skills\n* Proficiency using metrics
to measure and monitor application and infrastructure performance,
and experience using APM/monitoring tools (ex. AppDynamics, Splunk,
Prometheus, etc.)\n* Experience with automated testing
(functionality, performance, volume)\n* Familiar with basic
security principles (certificates, identity management,
authorization, etc.)\n* Strong communication and collaboration
skills, including the ability to work effectively with
cross-functional teams and stakeholders\n* Ability to work in a
team-oriented, collaborative environment\n* Understanding of
network and security concepts\n* Experience with data
management/movement and data platforms (ex. MSSQL, Elasticsearch,
