Job Description JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Sustainability Sr.
Manager-Global Health, Safety & Environmental this position is
responsible for the end-to-end management of Environmental and
Sustainability activities across global S&C locations. These
activities may include - but not limit to - embedding Environmental
Sustainability into business decisions, assessing global
regulations and market trends, and executing against short, medium,
and long-term targets. The person in this role will work closely
with cross-functional global teams to execute key initiatives and
provide technical consultation, support, and guidance on
Environmental and Sustainability matters, while also providing
high-level updates to Sr. Leadership. - The responsibilities of
this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Act as the Environmental and Sustainability subject matter
expert on best practices to manage current and future compliance
and regulations, and meet short, medium, and long-term targets on
climate change risks and opportunities, carbon footprint and
greenhouse gas emissions, waste generation, air emissions, energy,
and water consumption, pollution, and resource conservation.
- Identify and drive the implementation of key initiatives
tailored to S&C's global locations to manage scope 1, 2, 3
greenhouse gas emissions, including management of SF6 fugitive
emissions, combustion equipment, fuels, refrigerants, energy
efficiency, renewable energy generation, commuting and travelling,
waste, purchased goods, end-of-life, etc.
- Lead cross functional teams to assess and recommend ways for
S&C to increase its share of renewable energy consumption,
either through onsite generation, offsite generation,
virtual/physical PPAs, etc.
- Spearhead program to baseline and manage scope 3 greenhouse gas
emissions with focus on purchased goods from S&C's global
supply base, evaluating current practices and proposing
changes.
- Provide input to the development of metrics and KPIs to
formally assess Environmental, Sustainability and overall lifecycle
practices on S&C's products, processes, and business decisions
globally including a framework for sourcing, designing, and
manufacturing new products, processes, capital purchases, product
and building expansions and moves, etc.
- Drive the creation of Environmental and Sustainability programs
based on key market and customer needs such as Environmental
Product Declarations (EPDs), End-of-Life product management, REACH
and RoHS compliance, etc.
- Manage global waste program to achieve and maintain landfill
free certification, while developing strategies to manage S&C's
overall waste generation through waste reduction efforts including
increased circularity, use of recycled content in new designs,
processes and products, reusable and recyclable packaging from
suppliers and to S&C customers, etc.
- Support and help continuously improve internal and external
audits including ISO 14001:2015.
- Develop, coordinate, and lead Environmental and Sustainability
related processes, practices, and training for new hires and
current team members.
- Prepare and communicate Environmental and Sustainability
meeting minutes, action items, project schedules, risk status, and
presentations up to Sr. Leadership while staying current on
applicable Environmental and Sustainability regulations and market
trends, and their impact to S&C's operations. To select this
job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the
following:
- 4-year engineering or other technical degree with Environmental
and Sustainability-related experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in an Environmental and/or
Sustainability role.
- Demonstrated sustained high-level performance and ability to
provide Environmental and Sustainability insights and best
practices to guide corporate decision making and establish rapport
with strong oral and written communication skills to effectively
coach, teach, train, collaborate and report to team members,
experts in different areas, and Sr. Leadership throughout S&C
globally.
- Demonstrated use of technical expertise to build effective
solutions, and successfully represent the HSE team and how the
group can contribute to S&C's business objectives.
- Ability to simultaneously handle a variety of Environmental and
Sustainability initiatives, and to bring an effective approach to
the solution of technical objectives.
- Proven ability to design and deliver training.
- Up to 25% international travel and ability to occasionally
travel to other S&C Locations
- Previous experience working with data management software and
tools such as Oracle, PowerPoint, Excel, PowerBI, SharePoint
Online, GaBi, Sphera, Intelex, etc.
- Previous experience with project management and PMP
certification is a plus. -MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- This job may require periodic travel up to 25% by car and/or
air to S&C locations to perform in-person inspections and
investigations in a wide variety of factory and office
environments, attend offsite seminars and training activities for
continued Environmental Sustainability development.
- Activities such as standing, extensive walking, climbing stairs
& ladders, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching,
handling and may be exposed to hot/cold temperatures will
occasionally be required.
- Frequent use of computers and office equipment is required. Job
SummaryThis position requires a driven engineer capable of
executing complex projects for internal customers through
flexibility and resourcefulness. This role will lead projects to
develop new and improve existing manufacturing processes with a
focus on improving flow and capacity while enhancing Safety,
Quality, Delivery and Cost to meet ambitious company growth goals.
Responsibilities include identifying, planning, and implementing
lean processes to drive the improvement of KPI's (Key Performance
Indicators) and operational objectives. Essential capabilities
include a self-motivated, results-driven team-member with the
ability to develop and manage the scope, schedule, and cost of
projects. Requires the ability to successfully collaborate with all
areas of the business most notably, internal customers and
suppliers, external suppliers, contractors, supervision, and
maintenance. Will work closely with team members and leadership to
ensure changes to processes are sustained. Job SummaryPerform
project engineering on process systems as assigned by the Sr.
Manager - Facilities & Process Engineering & Maintenance. This may
include cleaning-phosphating-powder paint systems, electroplating,
liquid painting, vacuum systems, vacuum brazing, waste treatment,
material handling and related automation. Activities are typically
related to engineering/design/construction of new processes or
improvements to manufacturing operations. Engineering tasks will
include preparation of design criteria, feasibility assessments,
treatability and pilot trials, functional descriptions and sequence
of operation, calculations, equipment selection, drawings,
sketches/layouts and specifications. S&C is the specialist in
high-voltage switching, protection and control, providing products
for the electric power industry since 1911. Product
Engineering-Fuses and Circuit-Switchers is responsible for the
design, application and support of fuse products including
SM-4/SM-5 Fuses, SMD Transmission Fuses, Fault Fiter, Fault Tamer,
Fuse Links, and circuit-switcher products including Series 2000,
Mark V and Mark VI, Line-Rupter and Trans-Rupter II. The job of
Project Engineer will be to develop, maintain and enhance new and
existing transmission switch products. The position reports to the
Assistant Manager-Product Engineering - Fuses & Circuit-Switchers.
JOB SUMMARYThe candidate will be responsible for executing
analytical studies with the focus on the transmission planning and
generation interconnection. The candidate is expected to also
provide support on proposal development, and commercial team for
new business opportunities. The candidate will report to the
Manager of Transmission Planning in Consulting Analytical Services
department. Remote working option is available.
