Corbion is seeking a Project Engineer for our facility in Dolton, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for project engineering efforts, executing and managing the capital investments with an annual budget between $2MM to $4.5MM. Requirements:
Manage the investment of capital for all projects in Dolton. Responsible for bidding of materials, equipment and contractors. Implementation of the project scope in time and budget.
Assist subordinates and/or contractors and maintain accountability for the successful execution of budgeted capital projects. Besides final responsibility, this also includes taking the lead in negotiating contracts for the purchase of main equipment or contractor services.
Produce accurate capital investment estimates and savings/return evaluations. Incorporate various financial scenarios to provide a strong basis for decision making. Develop the stage gate details for projects to control risk, balanced with the upfront cost to minimize losses due to unfavorable projects.
Implement projects on time and within budget outlined in capital requests. Establish clear schedules and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for each project.
Implement best practices of project management throughout the team to efficiently implement projects. Implement the best practices of safety management for the Corbion project team and the construction contractors.
Forecast capital cash flow and monitor project accounting for accuracy.
Manage project closure and capitalization to the support the business' capital Finance structure.
Coordinate with QA, Technology, and Operations and Maintenance to assure training of operators and staff, maintainability, safety, quality and operability as a part of every project.
Execute QESH standards per defined roles and responsibilities to ensure personal and product safety and quality.
Implements, executes and promotes food safety of our products through the use of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), performance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Security Measures, Housekeeping, Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP), all quality, regulatory, environmental, safety and health guidelines and regulations. These standards are used in all daily activities to ensure the products safety and quality are in compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Chemical Engineer preferred)
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with significant exposure to capital project management and technology projects
Solid technical and engineering capabilities in process understanding and capital projects design and management
Fully proficient in Excel, Word and Auto CAD
Drive for results while managing projects and processes
Ability to manage and lead despite fast paced environment and tight deadlines
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills
