Position Details
Location: Chicago, IL
Compensation: $85K - $105K annually (depending on experience)
--- This is a salaried, non-exempt role where you will be guaranteed a 40-hour a week paycheck
--- If you work over 40 hours/week you will be compensated with overtime
--- Portal to portal pay means you are also compensated for your time traveling to customer sites
Shift: Mostly weekday, first shift hours. However, some customers may require evening and/or weekend support.
Travel: Travel to customer sites up to 100 miles away and twice a quarter overnight travel. Laptop, tools, a car allowance, and mileage per diem, are also provided to ensure you are successful in this role.

Position Description
As a Senior UPS Field Service Engineer, you will apply diversified knowledge of the power electronics industry to complete start-up, testing, troubleshooting, operations, and maintenance work of UPS and related critical power equipment. You will be home based and dispatched to customer sites as required.
Specific duties will include:
--- Be responsible for commissioning, maintaining, and providing emergency support on power electronics at customers' sites within the regional coverage area.
--- Perform commissioning-focused design reviews, prepares commissioning test procedures and report, coordinate, and oversee on-site testing.
--- Be involved in preventive maintenance, emergency response, equipment start-up, and/or field modifications.
--- Attend periodic training at the company's headquarters on various OEM units and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) which includes testing equipment and/or rebuilding older systems.
--- Troubleshoot issues with the technical-support group related to maintenance or operation of equipment.
--- Participate in the development of Methods of Procedures (MOPs) and is expected to consult with supervisor(s) concerning unusual problems and developments.

Position Requirements
--- Ideal candidate has 6+ years' experience in the critical power industry and ability to troubleshoot down to component level on equipment such as UPS, batteries, PDUs, STS, etc.
--- Excellent verbal, written communication skills, & customer relation skills.
