Job Description:
Join our team and play a crucial role in revolutionizing how
residential exterior doors are designed and configured. We are
looking for a talented individual to develop a cutting-edge CAD
configurator, enhancing efficiency and precision in generating part
numbers, engineering BOMs, and essential documentation.
Responsibilities Smart CAD Models Development: Confirm existing or
develop new smart CAD models for door components, ensuring full
functionality within the Autodesk Inventor environment. These
models should be intelligently designed for automatic updates,
parameterization, and data synchronization. Creation of Slab
Assembly: Develop a comprehensive model state slab assembly,
integrating subassemblies for door frames, facings, lock blocks,
and other components. Configuration of iParts: Set up iParts within
subassemblies to include essential metadata, facilitating efficient
management and retrieval by the final assembly. Bill of Materials
(BOM) Integration: Maintain dynamic and accurate BOM item numbers
for all parts. Ensure the assembly layout is correct upon initial
placement without manual edits. Manual and Automated Configuration
Switching: Switch between different configurations manually, and if
time permits, use iLogic for automation to enhance the user
experience. Education Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in
Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Experience Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor
preferred; SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar also acceptable).
Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C, or VBA).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work
independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and
documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications Exposure to
automation, scripting, or parametric design in CAD software.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, 3D
