General Summary: Sets up and operate the Amada laser cutting
machine to produce parts and products in conjunction with customer
quality requirements. Essential Functions: Follow safe
manufacturing and material handling practices Set up and operate
laser equipment to perform difficult fabrication operations on a
wide range of metals and alloys for complicated subassemblies and
assemblies involving coinciding requirements for high strength,
pressure and aesthetics Perform first piece in-process inspection
of jobs as required Ensure jobs meet all requirements before
leaving work center Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as
required Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying
with procedures, rules, and regulations Conserve resources by using
equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of
laser operation tasks as needed Inspect all work prior to passing
it on to the next operation Document actions by completing
production and quality forms Required Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities : Must be able to safety use small hand and power tools
Must be able to read and interpret Drawings and Bills of Material
Must have basic computer skills, including navigation in a
Windows-based environment Solid understanding of metal fabrication
concepts and processes required 1-2 years of prior CNC machine
operation experience desirable Must possess a keen sense of
attention to detail Must possess the ability to operate overhead
cranes, handling large sheet steel Must be able to use measuring
tools such as tape measures and calipers Must be able to determine
material types and gages Must possess effective written and verbal
communication skills Must perform all duties in conjunction with
UAI and ISO requirements Education/Experience: High School diploma,
GED or combination of work experience and skill development
required 1 year experience working in a manufacturing environment
desirable Prior experience or training in metal-cutting or
operating laser equipment desirable Physical Demands: (The work is
classified as Medium - Heavy Physical Demand Level (PDL) by the US
Dept of Labor's Dictionary of Occupational Titles) Frequencies:
Occasional (1-33%); Frequent (34-66%); Continuous (67-100%) Lifting
Demands: Lift up to 75 lbs on an occasional basis floor to waist
Lift up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis floor to chest Carry up to 75
lbs on an occasional basis up to 25 feet Push/pull up to 100 lbs on
an occasional basis Postural Demands: Standing - continuous Walking
- continuous Bending/stooping - frequent Squatting/kneeling -
frequent Lifting - frequent Miscellaneous Demands: Griping,
manipulation, fingering - frequent Variable hand/power tool use -
frequent Two-person lifting tasks using assistive devices for
lifting, pulling and pushing including hand trucks, pallet jacks,
