Telework eligible No- Duties Summary See below Learn more about this agency Responsibilities The Deputy Chief Marketing Officer will work under the direction of the Chief, Army Enterprise Marketing (AEM), assigned to Headquarters, Department of the Army G-1 and located in Chicago, Illinois. This office is an Army strategic, institutional office which directly supports the All-Volunteer Army concept. Serve as the principal advisor to the Chief, AEM, on business management operations, marketing strategy and innovation, and marketing execution. transforms Army Enterprise Marketing Office (AEMO) into an agile, learning organization; identifying and developing industry best practices and key capabilities; modernizing core marketing requirements; transforming how AEMO acquires, develops, shares, and uses data throughout the marketing and accessions enterprise; developing business practices and relationships with vendor/supplier partners that enable agility, initiative, and optimal performance; creating an organizational design that supports modern marketing practices; acquiring and developing talent; and developing trust-based relationships and cooperation across the marketing and accessions enterprise. Manages, assesses, and assists in the synchronization of efforts of other Army commands and agencies' marketing activities to include the Active Army, Army National Guard (ARNG), United States Army Reserve (USAR), United States Army Recruiting Command (USAREC), United States Army Cadet Command (USACC), United States Military Academy (USMA), United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), and the United States Army Civilian Corps. Advises the Chief, AEM, to establish AEMO as the center of information on relevant marketing and recruiting research, databases/models, researchers' and commanders' key questions and information needs--both historical and current/emerging trends. Budget responsibility is approximately $387 M. Direct reports routinely include one Highly Qualified Expert, four Colonels and two GS-15's. The Office of Chief Army Enterprise Marketing has 57 total military and civilian personnel. There are two special staff: Chief Counsel and the Marketing Auditor. Individuals selected for Army SES positions may be subject to reassignment that requires them to be mobile. The U.S. Army senior leadership considers mobility to be an integral part of employment as an SES member with the Department of the Army. Qualifications Eligibility will be based upon a clear showing the applicant has training, education and experience of the scope and quality sufficient to effectively carry-out the duties of the position. Candidates must exemplify the corporate perspective, leadership vision, broad experience and character needed in the SES corps not only to satisfy the immediate vacancy, but future vacancies which will occur in a variety of organizations, functions and locations. In addition, DoD requires an Enterprise Perspective. The individual must possess a broad point of view and an awareness and understanding of individual or organizational responsibilities in relation to DoD or government-wide strategic priorities. Executives should demonstrate ability to work with internal and external partners to support national security objectives. This perspective is typically gained through a variety of diverse work experiences.
