Responsible for a team situated across many locations to define
and execute Avnet's digital strategy. This spans all platforms
(desktop and mobile), as well as defining the digital user
experience. This role is critical in developing and implementing a
cohesive and compelling user experience across all digital
properties. This leader will be required to be located in Chicago,
IL or Leeds, United Kingdom.
The duties will include but not to be limited to the
--- Visionary leadership to inspire the organization to think
differently and innovate. Share the vision for growth with the
Avnet ELT on a regular basis and continuously build and prove the
business case for additional resources and investments to drive
--- Set and implement digital growth strategy with portfolio of
digital and e-commerce strategic growth initiatives aligned to
objectives of both Farnell and Avnet. Execute for impact while also
continuously refreshing the pipeline of future growth initiatives
(e.g. tactical plan to monetize communities, next horizon of
full-funnel marketing, advanced SEO content strategy).
--- Shape and enable the technology vision: You will partner with
Technical delivery to develop, continuously iterate and regularly
review the technology vision. This includes building the roadmap
for further scale up of develops - testing automation, accelerate
use of gitLab for developers, feature branch deployment, optimize
(and automate) dev environment setup. This also includes
consolidating and shaping the engineering teams (currently multiple
globally distributed teams are developing features concurrently on
--- Determine customer-centric product roadmap: You will partner
with the Manager of Ecommerce to develop and continuously iterate a
product strategy and future state offering. This will require
competitive analysis to uncover other opportunities and enhance
market positioning (product, marketing) and a holistic omni-channel
--- Provide financial and analytical leadership: Work closely with
Finance to build business cases that clearly shows investment
requirements, ROI, business impact and methodology and timeline for
measuring impact for all new growth initiatives. Establish
analytics to enable transparency across the organization of all
business KPIs in a standardized format for all
--- Serve as cross-functional change agent: You will drive change
across Farnell marketing, ecommerce, sales, pricing, asset
management, GIS, HR, finance, and any other critical functions in
the rollout of digital initiatives and capabilities.
--- Hire and develop the best: You will continue to scale up hiring
and shift the operating model around the customer journey. You will
need to manage talent and performance across all teams (e.g.
recruiting, career progression, regular evaluations, etc.) and
build a culture that becomes known as one of the most
forward-looking agile digital organizations in the world.
--- Product and Technology Leadership: Deep experience leading
teams of designers, engineers and product. Technically savvy with
an emphasis on emerging technologies, and experience implementing
those at global scale. Bonus if you have assisted in a technology
transformation that enabled GIS to handle ambitious growth (e.g.
100% uplift in traffic to the site).
--- Proven-track record of driving P&L: Strong financial acumen
and ability to drive growth across all aspects of the ecommerce
channel while managing the budget. You have led for a business that
has achieved significant growth over a short period of time.
--- Digital Sales & Marketing management: Extensive knowledge of
global digital channels including but not limited to---content
creation, website design & build, CEM & email, social media,
SEM/SEO, digital advertising/re-targeting and virtual events.
--- Proactive problem solving: Demonstrated experience of
pro-actively pre-empting problems, seizing opportunities using own
initiative and identifying creative solutions when faced with
--- Ability to prioritize and execute for impact: Demonstrated
experience of prioritizing and planning skills to organize and
manage large-scale digital / content projects and communications
activities on time and to budget. -----Bachelor's degree required
or equivalent experience from which knowledge and job skills can be
obtained. Degree qualified in Business, Marketing or technical
degree desired. Master's degree also preferred.
