What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Responsible for the establishment of both annual and monthly sales objectives in coordination with the Company's business plan
  • Establishes both market and target customer strategies in coordination with the President
  • Directs and oversees the company marketing function to identify and develop new customers for products and services
  • Responsible for the successful management of the needs of Company's customers in order to meet the objectives of the company's overall business plans and strategies
  • Defines and manages the monthly and annual sales objectives for all sales personnel
  • Develop and manage sales and marketing budgets and oversee the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs
  • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results.
  • Develop and implement new sales strategies across the organization
  • Serve as a key member of the senior management team
  • Drive value-creating insights, recommendations and solutions across multiple projects
  • Communicate with senior executives to develop and implement customer growth strategies across the business
  • Diversify and grow the revenue base and ensure viable options are in place for the long term
  • Establish a business plan for sales and business development, and drive the team to meet and exceed targets for EBITDA and revenue growth through that plan What you need to succeed at XPO: At a minimum, you'll need:
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
    • 10 years of business development or sales experience It'd be great if you also have:
      • Demonstrated executive-level sales leadership experience
      • Success in selling 3PL transportation services to manufacturers in the industrial, automotive, technology, chemical and consumer packaged goods industries in the U.S.
      • Proven ability to manage a sales pipeline of prospects and multiple business development proposals
