THE OPPORTUNITY: Mutual Trust Life Insurance Company is seeking an experienced sales professional to join our team as a Regional Sales, Vice President. This position is remotely located, will work from a home office and will cover the CT, DC, DE, KY, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, OH, PA, RI, VA, VT and WV territories. Mutual Trust is "The Whole Life Company". OVERVIEW: This position focuses on the recruitment and development of qualified Personal Producing General Agencies (PPGAs) and Marketing General Agencies (MGAs) within the assigned region. The emphasis is on attaining assigned sales objectives through multiple producing entities and to ensure that the producing entities and the assigned region meet the Company's persistency standard. THE DAY TO DAY:

  • Region Production Objectives
  • Recruit and develop qualified MGAs, PPGAs and writing agents (through MGAs and PPGAs) in accordance with the Company's standards and using the Company's Distribution Profile
  • Schedule on-boarding of new MGAs and PPGAs through our QuickConnect process
  • Work with MGAs and PPGAs to identify and prioritize opportunities
  • Develop marketing plans and obtain commitment from MGAs and PPGAs to capitalize on opportunities identified
  • Provide sales support to MGAs and PPGAs by demonstrating proficiency in the Company's product portfolio, the sales concepts to which the portfolio provides solutions and the services that the Company brings to support agent recruitment and production
  • Conduct routine agency visits and maintain frequent telephone communications with qualified prospects, new recruits and producing entities to ensure that production objectives are met and agency needs are being supported
  • Interact with and utilize the services and resources of the Home Office Sales and Marketing Division to help maintain and develop relationships with prospective and existing producing entities
  • Conduct product and sales concept seminars, workshops, symposiums and study groups using PowerPoint presentations and any other marketing support capabilities to enhance presentation effectiveness
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with each producing entity to assess the relative success of the established marketing plan, to ensure that production objectives will be met and to ensure that business practices and quality of business produced meets Company standards
  • Act as the primary liaison between distribution and the Home Office
    • Meet region production objectives for New Business Credit (NBC) and number of producing entities
    • Maintain a minimum of 85% persistency for the region
    • Operate within the region's annual expense budget
    • Effectively and positively interact with the New Business, Underwriting, Policy Owner Services and Contracts & Licensing departments in order to successfully resolve problem situations on behalf of the MGA, PPGA or writing agents
    • Keep abreast of business trends in a dynamic, changing industry
    • Provide MGAs, PPGAs and writing agents with assistance in new product introductions while continuing to promote current products and services
    • Motivate, direct and evaluate results for multiple priorities
      • College degree or equivalent experience
      • Seven (7) to ten (10) years of insurance industry experience with demonstrated knowledge of life insurance products and life insurance marketing concepts
      • Proven track record of recruiting producing MGAs, PPGAs and writing agents
      • Strong working knowledge of participating whole life products
      • Computer and illustration software proficiency
      • Able and willing to travel > 50% of the time
      • Well-developed communication and platform presentation skills
        • Experience in sales territory management
        • Experience with extensive travel
        • Access to an extensive network of contacts and prospective producers
