Job Description:

The People Programs Team develops and delivers critical programs across the employee lifecycle (e.g. New Hire Onboarding, Performance Management, Talent Planning, Employee Voice Survey & Engagement, & Offboarding) to help make DoorDash a place where every employee does the very best work of their careers. About the Role We're hiring a Director of Talent Management who will lead the strategy and execution for some of our most critical people programs on a global scale. This role will be responsible for the definition and implementation of the Performance Management, Talent Planning & Offboarding programs. The North Star for this role will be to increase talent density at DoorDash and ensure that we are retaining and developing top talent across levels, functions and geographies. Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environment you have a track record of keeping multiple programs and initiatives moving in parallel, demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization and an appetite for building from scratch. Working closely with the senior business leaders and global HR Business Partners, you will provide expertise in change management, talent assessment & calibration, performance management, promotions & compensation planning, succession & retention planning, and organization design. You have a demonstrated history of impactful and authentic people management and mentorship for your team. Reporting to the Head of People Programs and overseeing a team of Program Managers, this is a high-impact position poised to support DoorDash employees during this chapter of high growth.-- You're Excited About the Opportunity Because You Will---.

  • Design and drive an integrated Talent Management pillar strategy within the broader People Programs team, inclusive of Performance Management, Talent Planning & Offboarding
  • Develop strategic program objectives for DoorDash's Talent Management initiatives; drive planning, lead stakeholder engagement & alignment, assess risks and challenges, develop comprehensive project plans, drive execution work streams, rapidly identify and resolve potential issues, and give regular updates to senior management
  • Evolve and improve our existing Performance Management program design by adding new features and technical capabilities; build our nascent Talent Planning and Offboarding programs from the ground up
  • Work with People Analytics to ensure cleanliness and integrity of our talent data, and produce and present People data insights that enable us to make great decisions about our talent
  • Become an expert in talent components of our HRIS technology, understanding complex data integration mechanisms and ensuring we are pushing the limits of what the tech will offer as we implement new functionality
  • Establish trusted relationships with the HR Business Partners, as well as Senior-level business leaders to ensure the Talent Management programs are meeting the needs of all of our employee customers
  • Anticipate future People Program needs for our evolving and diverse workforce (e.g. program segmentation by employee type/org) About You
    • 12+ years of experience in Organization Development, Performance Management, Talent Management and/or Workforce Planning in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
    • Excellent strategic planning and operational deployment skills, the ability to integrate and align strategy, people, and activities across functions, processes, and teams. Able to translate vision and strategy into clear, actionable goals.
    • Exceptional project management skills, the ability to track and manage complex processes, and a desire to lead multiple teams and multiple projects.
    • A demonstrated track record of successful cross-functional leadership, collaboration, and relationship building
    • A strong people manager who loves to mentor and develop others who leads from the front
    • Practical experience providing formal/informal executive coaching and development in all areas of leadership
    • Ability to engage with senior functional leaders across the business and influence their strategic thinking
