Job Description Summary: The VP, SS&C is responsible for supporting the CCO in the definition and execution of the United States commercial strategy. The role will be accountable for the development of sales guidelines, for all retail channels and out-of-home, through the execution of priorities focused on distribution, shelf placement and visibility, merchandising, pricing, and activation. The individual and their team will be accountable for leading sales strategy & planning activities, demand forecasting, reporting, category leadership, sales tool deployment, and smart revenue growth management. In addition, they will play a pivotal role in coordinating global to local initiatives. The VP, SS&C will lead 7 direct reports, with a total team of 18; they will be accountable for cross-functional team building with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, and our Broker Partners. This position is based in Chicago and may require up to 25% business travel. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Translates marketing and business plans into clear commercial objectives, guidelines, and strategy to support development of commercial plan
  • Leads the development, implementation, and tracking of assortment, merchandising/shelving, pricing, and promotion strategy for each U.S. brand
  • Provides customer/field sales perspective to the marketing and brand teams to support development and implementation of marketing plans
  • Works collaboratively with sales finance and CCO to establish commercial process and guidelines for trade spending
  • Partner with global sales and marketing teams to bring consumer/customer-driven innovation to the U.S. with speed and via perfect launch requirements
  • Leads the development of our RGM capability to generate fuel for growth via trade ROI improvement and strategic pricing implementation
  • Supports development of reports and tracking of key sales KPIs
  • Supports field sales team with fact-based selling tools that are consistent with the commercial priorities
  • Champions the synthesis of numerous data sources to provide clear, concise, and actionable insights across the organization
  • Provides sales perspective on short-term and long-term demand forecasts to support the S&OP process
  • Responsible for advancing key sales strategic projects (e.g. visibility, channel development, customer segmentation, sales transformation, etc.)
  • Leads Category Development to establish Bel as category experts with our customers and ultimately drive growth for us and our retailers
  • Leads Bel's eCommerce capability to continue our pursuit to be best-in-class in omni channel growth and prowess
  • Lead for sales for annual integrated business planning deliverables such as key lessons learned, strategic plan development, annual budget setting, in-year budget gapping sessions, etc.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of the sales department to conform to budgetary requirements to include food shows, 3 rd party contracts, broker commissions, sales meetings, etc.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Bel Brands USA's policies and procedures
    • Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems Qualifications and Competencies Minimum education and experience required:
      • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience; MBA preferred
      • 12+ years of experience in food or CPG industry in a category sales planning and/or customer-facing field leadership with demonstrated, sustained success
      • Strong Category Leadership and sales enabling tool management backgrounds Specific competencies required:
        • Persuasive leader with the ability to clearly communicate expectations and motivate peers and all team members to action
        • Excellent communication skills; understands audience and adjusts communication to drive desired results
        • Advanced computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office
        • Language skills: proficient written and spoken English required, French would be helpful as well
        • Ability to prioritize and lead through change & ambiguity

          Working Conditions: Work is performed largely in an office environment. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours with at least 40 hours a week. At times there will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines, and other concerns. Position requires up to 25% travel.
