Job Description: Operations Manager The Operations Manager oversees the Supply Chain functions including direct oversight of managers and associates in the compounding, line fill, and labeling work areas as well as overall facilities and Sourcing/Procurement, Quality, Production, Warehousing, Distribution and equipment maintenance functions. They will be responsible for reviewing daily reports on productivity, inventory, ingredient usage, QA testing, sanitization, orders, and ensuring all production costs are recorded and maintained. The Manager must be able to operate at both the tactical and strategic levels to maximize plant efficiency, helping to resolve daily issues in each function as well as ensuring compliance with all safety measurements, communicate goals to their team, manage budgets, creating operating procedures, and maintaining thorough knowledge or processes and equipment within the plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and distribution.
  • Oversee and direct daily business operations for optimum efficiency while maintaining compliance to quality and regulatory standards.
  • Achieve budget for all operating costs including manufacturing, maintenance, and labor.
  • Responsible for proper staffing levels, training and adequate back-up coverage to ensure we meet expectations.
  • Direct manufacturing and distribution personnel to maintain product quality and meet requirements.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts around plant performance, people and processes to execute on current goals and prepare for future growth.
  • Identify, study and determine the processing equipment that best meets production needs from a product quality and productivity standpoint.
  • Define and model the overall facility capacity to have an overall understanding of bottlenecks and limitations.
  • Knowledge of Cosmetics (or CPG) regulations and ability to work with inspectors on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance to all regulations and GMP requirements.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining safety standards as required by company policies.
  • Implements skill sets and job related training for all employees to his/her department
  • Completes employee evaluations in a timely manner, recommends areas for development and training and sets individual goals.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Drive on time delivery to meet customer expectations
    Education and Experience Requirements
    • Minimum 5-10 years of plant operations management experience in a liquid compounding and liquid fill plant, preferred
    • Bachelor's degree, preferred.
    • Ability to manage multiple shifts and monitor overall plant performance
    • Demonstrated success in the manufacturing industry, required.
    • Excellent communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
    • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking.
    • Proven leadership and team management skills
    • Experience managing in an ISO certified operation
    • Experience with SAP preferred
    • Batchmaster experience strongly preferred
    • Lean Six Sigma certification and/or experience
    • Cosmetics (or CPG) manufacturing management experience
    • Production scheduling (demand planning) experience is a plus.
