Peggy Focheux Duval: Director of Learning & Development, France Senior Manager - Global Reputation Communications IL - Chicago Public Relations Professional Staff/Corporate Full-time Yearly US Dollar (USD) pay basis Summary The Senior Manager, Corporate Reputation Communications is responsible for managing global corporate reputation and developing and implementing B2B & B2C global corporate communications strategies. The individual in this position will be a key member of the company's Global Corporate Communications team, an advisor and trusted partner to Hyatt's senior leaders, a manager of agency relationships and mentor to junior members of the Communications team, including two direct reports (Associate Manager, Global Corporate Communications; Associate Manager, Global Corporate & ESG Communications). Focus areas will include: Executive Visibility & Media Relations Vetting and researching speaking engagements Developing talking points and conducting prep sessions with executives Maintaining and building key media relationships Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Providing strategic counsel on reporting and disclosure efforts Developing strategy for external and internal amplification of activations Story-mining, distilling complex topics and creating synergies in message and narrative development Issues Management Developing and maintaining statement libraries, rapid-response toolkits and best practice protocols Participating in real-time issue and crisis response management Monitoring industry landscape for potential issues and serving as communications partner to Risk and Security teams Responsibilities Develop media relations strategies to support key initiatives and programs, with a focus on maintaining, building, and protecting the company reputation. Provide strategic communication counsel to senior leaders and deliver expert service (engagement recommendations, media statements, speaking engagements & interview prep/coaching). Create and nurture media relationships, conduct ongoing outreach to generate stories and insert key message in national and industry media; act as spokesperson for the company on designated issues/positions and in response to media inquiries. Support strategy development and lead execution of ESG communication efforts including providing strategic counsel on reporting and disclosure efforts, distilling complex topics into accessible messaging and overarching narratives. Develop and execute external and internal amplification strategy for ESG efforts, driving awareness and credibility with key stakeholders (investors, colleagues, guests, owners). Serve as member of real-time issue and crisis response management, acting as key liaison with legal, operations, field, GCC and social/digital teams and key source of executive counsel for issues management/response. Partner and participant in Risk Council and Health, Safety and Security Council, monitor industry landscape for potential new issues, manage agency relationship with outside crisis counsel. Develop, maintain and regularly enhance issues and crisis statement libraries, rapid-response toolkits and training/best practice protocols. Provide guidance and mentorship to two direct reports and junior members of the global Communications team. Serve as senior review and strategic counsel on key materials before leader review (plans, recaps, executive writing, morning monitoring reports, etc.). Develop, enhance and ensure consistent utilization of overarching corporate identity communication materials including Hyatt talking points, message triangles, reactive FAQs, purpose story arc. Qualifications Experience 10+ years of experience in corporate communications (or public affairs related positions) experience with corporate reputation, ESG and issues/crisis communications required. Corporate, public company experience preferred. Agency experience is a plus. High degree of personal and professional savvy and experience to inspire confidence among audiences at all levels of the organization. Media relations/spokesperson, agency/outside resource management experience. High level of passion for communications, quality work, and team building. Strong empathetic orientation and high level of personal commitment/caring. Unquestionable integrity. Proven ability to produce a wide range of materials and content (press releases, social content, scripts, speeches, etc.). Strong writer and editor. Conceptual, strategic, and creative thinker, capable of developing plans that deliver results. Strong intellect, flexible and adaptable, stimulated by challenges, and open-minded with a strong desire to learn. Strong business acumen. Travel/tourism/hospitality experience a strong plus. Education Bachelor of Arts or Sciences in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related degree Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job Proficient, solid working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite Additional Comments and Requirements Extremely sound, consistent judgment.
