Director of Drayage Operations

The Director of Drayage Operations will be in charge of all
aspects of the NFI Drayage business as well as any ancillary
domestic warehousing transfer business.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage the NFI Drayage staff, including the dispatch manager, admin
manager, dispatchers, recruiting manager, and drivers.
Ensure load planning, driver scheduling, and dispatch duties using
both Dedicated Fleet drivers and Owner Operators are handled
correctly and according to plan.
Develops with Finance in the maintenance of a drayage pricing model
that will be used to price new business.
Partner with the Marketing department to ensure proper
representation of the NFI Drayage business as it relates to driver
hiring and new business development.
Create relationships with each NFI drayage customers creating value
across multiple levels of management at customer.
Develop and manage daily and weekly performance/KPI data reports to
both internal and external parties.
Work with key sales parties internally to work through a sales
pipeline for the drayage business within NFI.
Properly positions NFI Drayage services within the overall NFI
Properly engage 3 rd party carrier that can provide the necessary
services to ensure on time service to the customer.
Ensure implementation and complaisance of NFI's Safety, Security,
and Labor Policies with staff.
Establish and maintain good human resources practices with direct
reports, including but not limited to, provide regular coaching and
feedback on performance, prepare and present formal performance
appraisals as required, ensure adherence to established corporate
and department policies and procedures.
Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management or related field
10+ years' hands on experience and understanding of 3PL and drayage
and harbor industry or equivalent.
Excellent written/verbal communication skills and presentation
Strong interpersonal skills - Ability to communicate with all
levels of customers, vendors, management and internal
Develop and maintain variety of professional business
Ability to manage employees, deal with personnel issues, provide
candid feedback and take disciplinary measures if appropriate
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
Time management skills.
Computer knowledge of Outlook, Gmail and MS Office (Word, Excel,
Power Point, etc.).
Well organized with high attention to detail and accuracy.
