Job Description:
**Position available for remote candidatesThe Equipment Advanced
Analytics Manager at TTX is responsible for supporting the
Engineering team with component reliability and performance
analytics. This position will partner with Engineering to develop
metrics, reporting, and dashboards for TTX leadership as well as
our railroad owners.The Equipment Advanced Analytics Manager will
assist the Operations Strategy and Analytics department with
digital transformation by building next level advanced analytics
solutions. This position will develop predictive and prescriptive
analytics to solve practical problems and provide business value.
This position will design, develop and implement business critical
data science, machine learning, and automation projects around
railcar asset health, effectiveness of maintenance programs,
operational efficiencies, and fleet availability.The Equipment
Advanced Analytics Manager will act as the steward for data quality
related to repair billing and components. This position will work
closely with IT on the development of TTX's Enterprise Data
Warehouse Modernization effort to ensure the team has access to
clean, analytics-ready, data.RESPONSIBILITIES - Support Engineering
with data analysis for the Field Trial process (monitoring the
field performance of components in railcar service) by evaluating
performance of new designs or new manufacturers of components
applied to TTX railcars - Actively investigates and takes
initiative to identify what is driving trends found through the
data analysis performed - Partner with Engineering, Operations, and
Quality to develop advanced analytics and business intelligence
reports by defining the information requirements, gathering and
analyzing the appropriate data and writing formal reports - Develop
infrastructure and business processes necessary to build and
maintain machine learning models and solutions - Partner with
Engineering to maintain performance benchmarks for components by
providing analytics self-service tools - Maintain, support, and
expand existing analytical tools related to field trials and
component reliability analysis - Act as the liaison between the
Equipment Analytics and Information Technology Analytics teams to
ensure business goals and strategies are aligned and data quality
is maintained - Provide support for ad hoc requests for business
intelligence reports by defining the information requirements,
providing the data preparation and solution design. - Understand
railcar repair billing and repair billing procedures - Ability to
develop and present cost benefit analysis supporting companywide
initiatives - Act as data steward of information pertinent to the
Equipment DepartmentQUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor or Master's degree in
computer science, statistics, business analytics, engineering or
other related degrees - Five years' experience in data analytics,
reliability or predictive analytics and data modeling - Strong
technical and functional skills. Advanced skills in statistical
analysis and Data Science. Experience with Python, SQL, and SAS
required - Knowledge and understanding of railcar components and
railcar repair billing data and reporting preferred - Ability to
effectively present information and respond to questions from key
customers and managers. - Strong verbal and written communication
skills. Team building and problem resolution skills.PHYSICAL JOB
