They are a fully-integrated Supply Chain solutions provider, offering Logistics, Distribution, Transportation, Intermodal, Global Shipping, Real Estate and Packaging services across the United States.

Director of Transportation Management Business Development (Remote)
The Director of Transportation Management Business Development is responsible for achieving sales goals through our client's Transportation Management Division. Other key responsibilities include: responding and providing pricing, identifying and targeting new customers, implementing vertical market strategies, engaging in community business events, conducting optimization analyses, and proposing creative solutions for new and existing customers. This position will report to the RVP of TM.

Job Type: Full-time/ Work from home

Responsibilities:

  • Build an organically grown pipeline of new and existing customers.
  • Develop and close sales leads.
  • Focus on selling shippers on business process outsource solutions that maintain multi-modal freight networks with a large transportation spend.
  • Oversee engineering analyses that assist with generating new business and organically growing existing accounts.
  • Assemble a deal team commensurate with the opportunity that puts our client in the best position to win.
  • Develop and deliver customer presentations.
  • Retain and grow existing customer base.
  • Negotiate contract terms, contract structure, and product lines.
  • Develop proposals and build customer solutions.
  • Work with Marketing to continuously update sales and marketing material in-step with our client's service offerings and market dynamics.
  • Partner and collaborate with Operations and Engineering groups.
  • Work with and develop strong relations with corporate sales team.
  • Manage key administrative tasks.
  • Respond and provide pricing.
  • Quarterly/monthly internal & external business reviews.
  • Establish goals/objectives for Sales.
  • Daily and weekly pipeline reporting.
  • Maintain a pipeline of more than $100M in freight under management.
  • Maintain a pre-determined number of target accounts and demonstrate active attention to those accounts and progress toward closing.
  • Travel up to 50%. Experience:
    • BA or BS degree required
    • 5 or more years of successful sales experience with a proven winning track record for developing new business and expanding business base
    • Proficient in relationship building throughout clients to include C-level executives
    • Strong analytical skills - ability to assess, design and sell a given solution
    • Ability to communicate and negotiate with corporate level staff - boardroom presence
    • Strong general business acumen
    • Must have strong problem solving skills and the ability to think and respond quickly to sales and service issues
    • Effective planning and organizational skills to schedule appointments appropriately and meet reporting deadlines
    • In-depth knowledge of the company's products and services This position offers a competitive base salary.
