Director leads all facets of supply chain from receiving of raw
materials to the shipment of finished goods. Key areas: production
planning, scheduling, and inbound / outbound material movement.
Other functions include SIOP, inventory control, strategic sourcing
and procurement. These activities include, but are not limited to,
the execution of procurement strategies, bid process and
negotiations, team-based supplier selection and development,
supplier risk reduction and contract management. Essential
Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
- Maintains consistent leadership for materials -planning and
inventory control -personnel, including performance management and
team -development. -
- In alignment with Global Procurement ensuring cost-effective
results and ethical procurement practices. Accountable to ensure
project timelines are met; critical project tasks are properly
aligned with internal and external resources; and the accuracy and
timeliness of project milestones are consistently kept up to
date.
- Identify major savings opportunities and develop action plans
by analyzing current-state category sourcing strategies and develop
action plans to achieve those goals while meeting customers and
local requirements/standard.
- Negotiate competitive total landed cost based on policy and
targets given by Global Procurement and leadership. Drive saving
projects in collaboration with Global Procurement.
- Develops -and manages critical performance goals (material
availability, -inventory, turns, inventory accuracy, supplier
-on-time delivery, -Gross Material Productivity, and PPV) -and
translates the goals into performance expectations for materials
-team -and forecasts for finance.
- Leads, manages, and directs all materials related processes -
including S&OP, -delinquency -recovery actions, demand
management, -production control, -business information systems and
supply chain process improvement activities.
- Identifies material planning, MRP, and Kanban training
deficiencies -both within and outside of -materials team;
Facilitates education and development sessions; Drives best
practice implementation throughout materials team in coordination
with the LSS site leader.
- Assures appropriate ordering parameters and vendor expediting
actions are in place for the business to meet its goals and execute
on time delivery to our customers.
- Prioritizes IT efforts in developing information and systems
for Operations team. - Critical team member on MRP/ERP improvement
projects.
- Develop policies, checklists, or other materials that describe
the organization's technical, quality, service, or reliability
standards to help purchasing staff evaluate supplier
proposals.
- Analyze and evaluate external price trends and new product
offerings to identify opportunities to reduce overall purchasing
costs.
- Select, and manage ongoing relationships with, major suppliers,
vendors, or sub-contractors to ensure that the organization
receives satisfactory standards of service.

Responsibilities:
- Serves as liaison with other business processes (finance,
customer service, -engineering, -marketing, sales -and procurement)
to assure business goals are met.
- Effectively -delivers the strategic vision for materials
management, -both internally and externally to the business.
- Effectively execute the supplier performance evaluation and
development process with key stakeholders.
- Negotiate, develop and manage supply agreements for assigned
categories
- Support all aspects of supplier risk identification and
management, dual source management and supply chain
sustainability.
- Responsible for controlling -purchase order execution for the
facility. - Ordering the right amount of material to satisfy
customer demand, while protecting the company from excess and
obsolete inventory whenever possible. - Responsible for developing
accurate inventory forecasts, using all available business data
during creation.Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience,
Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or
related field
- 10+ years of materials experience, with at least 5 years of
leadership experience
- ERP / MRP systems (ERP-LX and/or BPCS preferred)
- Effective verbal/written communication and presentation
skills.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Advanced Excel user
preferred, Visio, Business Objects, etc.)
- Demonstrate a bias for action and be an effective change
agent.
- Proficiency in managing and facilitating teams through problem
solving and conflict resolutions
- Ability to manage multiple prioritiesPreferred Qualifications:
- MBA
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing and
Six Sigma
- Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt / Lean Master
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills, -including
ability to effectively coach, motivate, -empower, develop and
evaluate employees
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact
with all levels of external and internal customersPhysical
