your passion and build a career. The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago
is hiring full-time Program Directors who are responsible for
managing the daily operations of youth development across all
Community School Initiative (CSI) locations. The CSI Program
Director is responsible for ensuring program quality including the
oversight of effective program and curriculum implementation across
CSI sites and providing leadership and guidance to staff around key
CSI operational practices such as navigating Y systems such as
Verian, Ultipro and Kissflow. The CSI Program Director is also
responsible for tracking all grant and performance metrics related
to program quality and implementation across CSI locations.
Position Responsibilities:
- Works with CSI Program Managers and Youth Enrichment
Instructors to implement CSI programs and curricula with fidelity
across CSI sites while ensuring the program follows all YMCA
standards.
- Monitors program implementation at sites utilizing DFSS funding
and provide management with reports on programing, including
attendance and other reports as needed.
- Provides real-time coaching to CSI Program Managers and Youth
Enrichment Instructors through consistent program observations
- Facilitates collaboration with and between program staff
including assisting in planning and leading CSI staff meetings and
professional development opportunities
- Enhances parent/guardian/caregiver engagement and ensures that
the program meets expectations for quality.
- Collaborates with teachers, principals and other school staff
to align and execute program activities and ensure program
success.
- Facilitates CSI Program Manager development in navigating key
operational systems such as Verian, Kissflow,and Ultipro as well as
key Chicago Public Schools operational systems CSI follows.
- Collaborates with CSI leadership team to partner with external
organizations and leverage resources on behalf of assigned
schools.
- Ensures CSI keeps up with all compliance metrics (CPS, DFSS,
YMCA, etc.)
- Assists in development and execution of special events and
seasonal school-aged programs, such as summer camp,for program
participants.
- Meets with Chicago Public Schools team, DFSS team and CSI
leadership team to ensure all program grant deliverables are met
successfully every year
- Participates in program marketing and outreach activities,
including assisting with CSI newsletter
- Work with CSI Program Managers in developing and implementing
CSI community events throughout the year.
- Works with CSI Program Managers to ensure the successful
implementation and operation of CSI Advisory Boards in all YMCA
Community Schools.
- Works with CSI Program Managers to ensure the successful
implementation of adult programming at all YMCA Community
Schools.
- Fills in for other staff as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Hires, develops, motivates and retains a committed team
passionate about the YMCA's mission and service to youth and
families.
- Completes all job related, supervisory and other trainings as
required.
- Supports the commitment of the YMCA to child abuse prevention
by:
- Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard
to staff, members or guests to maintenance staff. Requirements &
Preferred Qualifications for this position are:
- Must be at least 21 years of age and/or 5 years older than the
oldest child that participates in the program
- Must have capacity to make decisions and communicate
effectively with parents and children
- Must have at least a High School Diploma or equivalent and one
of the following:
- 30 semester hours from an accredited college or university with
12 semester hours related to school age child care, child
development, elementary education, physical education, recreation,
camping or other related fields. In addition, 750 hours of
professional experience in recreational program or licensed day
care center serving school age children (K-5th) or a license exempt
school age child care program operated by a private or public
school.
- 6 semester hours of credit from an accredited college or
university related to school age child care, child development,
elementary education, physical education, recreation, camping or
other related fields. In addition, 1560 hours of professional
experience in recreational program or a licensed day care center
serving school age children or a license exempt school age child
care (K-5th) program operated by a private or public school.
- Preferred candidates will have an Associate's degree in child
development or early childhood education or the equivalent (defined
as 64 semester hours in any discipline with a minimum of 21
semester hours of college credit in child development, early
childhood education or early childhood special education). We're

procedures to your supervisor
- Completing all child abuse prevention training as required
