Job Description:

Position Purpose: The PLC (Product Life Cycle) Sourcing Project Manager (PM) position exists to lead the successful collaboration and integration between engineering, supply base and global commodity teams throughout the PLC process in order to achieve an optimal product solution for Woodward. Essential Functions: Primary Global Sourcing focal point for engineering teams/project management.Actively drives activities within Woodward toresolution,, is the go to person for issue resolution,has experience andexpert knowledge of PLC, PLC sourcing processes, Global Sourcing requirements, quality system or business specific needs to get the job done and issues resolved. Global Sourcing lead on all engineering development projects of medium to high complexity, including platforms andproposals. This person strategically leads and influences others throughout the Woodward organization to ensure successful implementation of supply chain strategy for development projects. Additionally, drives, leads and influences commodity members to complete actions for sub-project level activities to meet engineering project timelines and goals. Applies Global Sourcing commodity sourcing strategiesto all engineering projects throughout a product life cycle while ensuring alignment with Woodward's business goals and customer requirements. Develop and driveproject plans and strategically and proactively use design to cost, risk mitigation,commercial alignment, technical requirements, early supplier involvement activities and other tools or processes as necessaryto address immediate or long termproject requirements. Proactively engages and collaborates with Global Sourcing Commodity teams to communicate engineering needs, gaps, and areas of concernthat may require strategy alignment to enable Woodward success. Drives a synergistic relationship between Global Sourcing Supply Chain teams and Engineering to develop and drive innovative project solutions. Other Functions: Responsible for completion of project deliverables which can include but is not limited to Sourcing Strategy Checklist, Early Supplier Involvement and Risk Mitigation plans. Evaluate, identify andlead continuous improvement of PLC sourcing processes and tools. Responsible for source justification and cost verification review and approval with commodity teams. Responsible to prepare and present project updates, Sourcing Strategy and Commodity Reviews to a broad based audience including key leaders. Provides leadership to Purchasing Coordinators and collaborates with Sub-Contract Administrators to ensure alignment of project priorities to achieve project goals. Lead team/group in areas such as, but not limited to, assisting in work load management, facilitating project workload alignment as well as back up Supervisor, if needed. Provide mentoring and consultation to Level 1 or 2PLC Sourcing Project Managers Adheres in accordance to Woodward standard processes, standards of business conduct and contracts in conformance with UCC, other legal principles and company policies. Working Environment / Physical Activities: Work is generally performed in a normal office environment; however, the job will take them into various areas of the plant where there is a possible exposure to noise, chemicals, dust and temperature variations. Domestic travel may be required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated technical competence in one or more commodities preferred Solid experience and knowledge with technical subject matter, including tolerances, key characteristics and drawings Demonstrated ability of how to get things done within all Management levels of the organization while considering a broad business perspective, which includes Suppliers, Woodward's business units and other internal stakeholders Strong leadership skills including the building of effective teams, an ability to manage and resolveconflict, the effective setting of priorities in the team and an ability to clearly define roles, responsibilities and objectives. Demonstrated ability to develop, execute, and lead key or complex project plans Solid knowledge of project management tools (specifically MS Project, Work Breakdown Structure) Advanced knowledge in problem solving, negotiating, and contracts management in order to appropriately engage and escalate to the Global Commodity organization. Knowledge and experience with global business processes and systems. Solid knowledge of Six Sigma tools, including leading and participation in Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and other continuous improvement activities. Strong interpersonal skills and interfacing with engineering, management commodity teams, suppliers, across domestic and international functions and organizations. Strong and effectivewritten and verbal communication skills; including presentations and public speaking Ability to use and knowledge of software: MS Office, Outlook, Project, local business system, MRP/ERP-based programs Solid knowledge or education in Quality Management Systems, compliance standards Advanced experience and knowledge of PLC-type processes, tools and procedures Identify and champion continuous improvement. May include authoring documents and standards. Education or Formal Training: BA/BS in Business or Engineering Green Belt certification desired Experience Required: 5 years of experience in Supply Chain/Purchasing, Engineering, manufacturing preferred. 3-5 years of experience in NPI environment preferred Woodward is an independent designer, manufacturer, and service provider of control solutions for the aerospace and energy markets.
