*POSITION DESCRIPTION*

As a premier private client-focused law firm, Harrison & Held represents numerous family offices, trustees, public figures, fiduciaries, CEOs of public companies, and prominent closely-held businesses and individuals both domestically and internationally.

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and overseeing the management of the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department. Overall responsibility for setting HR strategy in support of the strategic direction of the Firm, and for the design and implementation of talent management initiatives for staff at the Firm. Responsible for providing strategic advice to the Chief Executive Officer on the development and implementation of policies at a Firm-wide level and ensuring that the recruitment, development and advancement programs are aligned to support the Firm's strategic agenda.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Provide counsel on policies and procedures, recruiting and retention strategies, training and development, benefits, compensation, employee relations issues, and guidance on any other HR related issues
* Oversee all administrative employee relations, staffing, retention, on-boarding, development, termination, compensation and benefits
* Provide coaching and guidance to all levels of administrative management, partners and employees
* Consult with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the Chief Executive Officer, on personnel and policy matters
* Partner closely with and advise Chief Executive Officer on HR initiatives and employee relations issues
* Direct and participate in the development and administration of the Firm's staff recruitment and selection process
* Administer Human Resources new hire orientation for partners, managers and employees
* Conduct exit interviews for all departing partners, managers and employees
* Direct and coordinate the performance evaluation process to assure all administrative staff receive objective and timely appraisals. Manage the compensation process
* Adjust and maintain the salary structure to ensure the maintenance of competitive salary levels for all Firm positions
* Direct the development and implementation of training programs for professional growth and development of all staff and managers, tied to competencies where appropriate
* Deliver training programs as appropriate, designed to address key initiatives and/or compliance requirements for all employees
* Direct the development and implementation of all personnel policies and procedures in accordance with established Firm policies and objectives. Annually review and make recommendations to Chief Executive Officer for improvement of policies, procedures and practices
* Ensure policies, practices and procedures are administered in a fair and consistent manner in compliance with all applicable laws and governmental regulations and guidelines
* Review all benefit plans on an annual basis to assure proper balance and equity to partners, employees and the Firm, including the analysis of claims cost, negotiation of contracts and monitoring vendor performance. Engage broker, as necessary, to assist in such review.
* Participate in local legal organization activities

*KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: *

* 5+ years related experience in human resources management required
* Prior law firm experience preferred
* Human Resources experience should include an expertise in leadership, employee relations, recruitment, performance development, training, salary benchmarking and compensation
* Strong verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff
* Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with all levels
* Understanding of general business and management practices
* Knowledge of legal industry specifics and general direction of technology preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
