Make a difference by contributing to building a better, stronger community for all. -Sports Program Manager Opportunity -The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is hiring a full-time Sports Manager to create a high-quality, safe sports experience for YMCA members and program participants. This position will have a base located at the South Side YMCA center, a community-focused nonprofit, located in Chicago, IL. - -The YMCA is a vibrant part of Chicago and surrounding communities. So you're not just impacting a bottom line; you're impacting people and communities all over Chicagoland.The Sports Manager coordinates and supervises the day to day operation of the sports programs. - Responsible for planning, promoting, creating, and coordinating programs. - Also responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising staff. Maintains records, schedules staff, and ensures proper gym maintenance. - Networks with a variety of public agencies and community organizations for program needs. -Supervisory relationship:Reports to the Youth Development Director. - Sports Manager provides direct supervision to staff including coordinators, instructors, counselors, volunteers, and lower level staff as assigned. -Scope of Responsibilities - Overall:Assists in scheduling staff to ensure coverage, safety and quality program delivery.Assists in developing program materials and distributing program information.Assists in training and supervising new staff and volunteers as well as providing ongoing trainings in accordance with training designs.Conducts staff meetings and -in-services -as scheduled.Acts as a primary responder in case of injury, accident, or illness and be knowledgeable of emergency procedures.Coordinates the operation of assigned program areas. Evaluates programs.Provides communication and training for membership staff regarding class registrations and programs.Ensures adherence to state and county standards. Maintains YMCA standards and ensures compliance with requirements. - Ensures accidents and incidents are reported.Supports the YMCA's mission and center operations as needed. -Assists with developing and managing the budgets related to the program areas, includes creation of margin analysis and completion of payroll.Scope of Responsibilities - Sports:Able to provide direct service in sports and recreation classes and leagues.Responsible for maintaining staff certifications and volunteer paperwork.Assist with gym and other areas usage scheduling.Oversees the maintenance of the gyms, climate control, cleanliness, and related maintenance.Develops, implements, and oversees a variety of sports programs for members, participants and community.Assist in oversight of onsite summer camp (scheduling of counselors and lifeguards, attendance, payroll, etc.)Partner with OST/Off-site team for summer camp and after school programs.YMCA Vaccine PolicyWe're committed to the health and wellness of our employees, members, program participants, and those most vulnerable.
