Our client -is a representative logistics solution providing a full range of services in long and short distance freight, specialty haulage, and management of dry freights.

Director of Brokerage Operations
The Director of Brokerage Operations role is responsible for the management and development of the Operations team and building out systems to ensure we are servicing and capitalizing on freight opportunities. The Director of Brokerage Operations are responsible for carrier compliance and setting KPIs with the Operations team. You are to work together with the Director of Sales to understand opportunities and areas that can be improved within our client's sales and operations processes. Our client's goal is to create an Above and Beyond Experience for every client with every shipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, Maintain, and track KPIs within the Operations department.
  • Ensure our client is utilizing compliant carriers and tracking insurance regulations in the TMS.
  • Analyze rates to suggest rates on RFPs and spot bids from the Sales team.
  • Gain knowledge on the industry and our client's accounts as a whole.
  • Work with sales to pass along knowledge on market conditions and capitalize on quoting opportunities.
  • Develop the existing training platform to effectively be able to grow the Chicago office into a Carrier Sales hub.
  • Analyze and evaluate the current state of our client's high-touch accounts. Provide feedback and improvement ideas, help structure, and develop the accounts operationally.
  • Help implement and design a commission structure for the carrier team to provide incentive to build on carrier relationships and focus on strategic goals.
  • Setup education material to the carrier sales floor on all equipment types and aspects of the supply chain from dry vans, refrigerated freight, drayage, step decks, flatbeds, conestogas, intermodal, LTL freight and specialized equipment including RGN's, and other account specific freight.
  • Conduct and lead team meetings in terms of initiatives being pushed, goals, and areas of opportunity. Providing solutions as challenges arise in securing capacity while maintaining and leveraging carrier relationships to enable growth for both new opportunities and existing business.
  • Ensure we are onboarding, growing, and maintaining carrier relationships to optimize repeat carriers and grow each Carrier Sale's book of business.
  • Improve internal processes to incentivize growing carrier relations.
  • Engage and collaborate within departments on RFPs to bring on new and existing business while maintaining and expanding current accounts.
  • Assist in training new carrier reps by demonstrating knowledge of the TMS system and educating on all resources to succeed including and not limited to DAT, Truckstop, Carrier 411, rate negotiating, carrier relationship development, sourcing capacity and compliance.
    Experience:
    • 3+ Years in Logistics (Management Preferred).
