The JobAs the EJD Supply Chain Manager, you are responsible for
improving the efficiencies, processes, and execution of delivery
for Emery Jensen retailers. The goal and focus are to deliver an
exceptional experience while optimizing profitability and driving
compliance with carriers and Retail Support Centers (RSC's). What
you will do... Oversee & support the day-to-day operations of
outbound delivery from our 15 Distribution Center's to local EJD
Retailers, in conjunction with the company's transportation
strategy.Assist the Corporate Logistics Manager in developing a
transportation strategy that supports EJD growth that aligns with
the organization's goals. (Support to include freight rate
negotiations, network design, facilitating regular carrier
performance reviews and reporting on key KPI's.)Oversees, observes
and provides direction for non-exempt EJD - Customer Service
Specialist II and acts as a conduit to support growth and improve
overall delivery experience.Responsible for providing professional
timely service to Emery Jensen retailers and Territory
ManagersEnsuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are followed
by outbound shipping teams to EJD customers via LTL, Fleet, and
ParcelMake key decisions on resource allocation to ensure effective
daily utilization of the network design.Ability to travel to each
RSC to support & training Customer Service SpecialistsWhat you need
to succeed...Minimum of 3-5 years of customer service experience or
a two year degree in a related field plus 1-2 years of
transportation, warehouse and project management.Knowledge of RSC
operations specific but not limited to outbound.Demonstrated
ability to work with a diverse customer base, troubleshooting,
multi-tasking, , and functioning fairly independently.Demonstrated
ability to interpret policies and procedures.Demonstrated
initiative in researching and resolving customer
issues/questions.Demonstrated ability to make decisions and
exercise good judgment in a changing environment.Knowledge of
Department of Transportation rules and regulations.Familiar with
Hazard Materials information and regulations.Professional ability
to communicate at all levels of organization.Ability to clearly
communicate issue resolution to internal and external partners.SAP,
Outlook, Excel, Word experience preferred. Report into the Oak
Brook, IL office at minimum 2 days per week (Mondays and
