About the Department
-Alumni Relations & Development (ARD) engages alumni (-190k), current students, parents and friends of the University through intellectual, professional and social activities on campus, around the world and online. ARD raises $550 Million annually to support faculty and researchers, practitioners and patients, and students and programs across the University. Our work supports priorities in every division, school, department, and institute. Within ARD, the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving (AEAG) team oversees a diverse set of programs and initiatives designed to increase participation and engagement among alumni, parents, and friends of the University, with a focus on driving key University priorities. Under the direction of the Executive Director, AEAG, this team is responsible for achieving ambitious participation, engagement, and fundraising goals within the College and broader University.
Job Summary
-Responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of new and existing applications, systems architecture, and network infrastructure. Ensures operation and security of all servers and networks. Configures, installs, maintains and upgrades applications and hardware for the organization's infrastructure and for end-user devices.

Develops and implements a cohesive strategy for analytics and supports the use of analytic platforms and administrative data across the University. Prepares administrative data for joint analyses across multiple domains. Partners with functional stewards, business units, and user partners to deliver reporting and analytic solutions with appropriate data governance and secure access.Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and implementation of a data and analytics strategic roadmap for AEAG, prioritizing improvements to data practices.
  • Develops and continually improves internal alumni data systems and resources to enable flexible and accurate reporting and ensure data integrity.
  • Develops and implements data/analysis requests and projects related to alumni engagement and annual giving; Creates, leads, and communicates complex data queries across unique user data sets.
  • Analyzes alumni data to develop recommendations for alumni engagement and annual giving strategies and solutions. Partners directly with AEAG leadership team to create, manage, enhance, and support alumni systems and data-related initiatives.
  • Provides system ownership and data oversight utilizing advancement database and associated technologies. Identifies and creates solutions to better capture and analyze data in pursuit of team goals.
  • Serves as AEAG team lead for Salesforce projects and initiatives.
  • Serves as primary AEAG liaison with ARD Analytics and Technology Solutions team.
  • Consults with AEAG colleagues on their data and reporting needs, partnering to develop solutions and project plans and proactively communicating to understand current and future needs. Translates needs of functional users to technical staff and vice versa.
  • Ensures the accuracy of alumni engagement data, including event attendance and volunteer engagement. Partner with AEAG colleagues and unit partners to collect data for input into CRM.
  • Hires, manages, evaluates, and retains top talent. Provide direct management of staff responsible for data analysis and management. Sets clear goals and expectations.
  • Seeks opportunities for professional development that will enhance job performance, including building networks within the University and with colleagues at peer institutions and with an eye towards broadly diversifying the advancement profession.
  • Develops Business Intelligence (BI) and other analytical applications. Works to achieve an integrated reporting and analysis environment, effectively leveraging analytical systems and tools.
  • Works with users to ensure deliverables are meeting or exceeding expectations. Provides support and communicates issues to users as defined by IT standards.
  • Performs other related work as needed.
    Minimum Qualifications
    -Education:Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.---
    Work Experience:Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.---
    Certifications:---Preferred QualificationsEducation:
    • Bachelor's degree.
    • Advanced degree.Experience:
      • Minimum five years of professional work experience in data analytics, data management, development, or similar professional work experience.
      • Functional understanding in donor data analysis that encompasses both fundraising and engagement analytics.
      • Management experience, including staff.
      • Experience with fundraising, contact management, or other database software.Technical Skills or Knowledge:
        • Demonstrated skill and knowledge of, or ability to learn quickly, the internal workings of the University as well as the technology tools available to the Office of Alumni Relations and Development, including the University's donor relationship management system and the Microsoft Office Suite.
        • Experience with Salesforce CRM.
        • Experience with Tableau, Marketo, Luminate, and/or TeamRaiser.Preferred Competencies
