THE JOB
As a Sanitation Manager your roles and responsibilities will include:


  • Maintain clean and orderly plant / equipment; involves working in food manufacturing environment with high degree of noise and temperature extremes
  • Create and update SSOPs to ensure they are effective and efficient, that they include the correct tools and approved chemicals, No. of people required for the task, the frequency required, and the approximate time of completion.
  • Evaluate sequence of cleaning, adequacy of tools, chemicals, and frequency of cleaning activities to ensure they are adequate, keeping always an aim for continuous improvement of processes.
  • Use knowledge of sanitation procedures to ensure all products are free of contamination through the elimination of all possible sources of infestation or unsanitary conditions
  • Maintains internal control over supplies, ordering when necessary
  • Develop and maintain plant master sanitation schedule
  • Conduct plant sanitation inspections and participate in all corporate sanitation audits
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of assigned duties
  • Support plant metrics SQDCM, all initiatives policies, and procedures
  • Manage the recycling program and shredding of obsolete documentation
  • Ensure any overhead leaks are properly managed
  • Ensure the proper procedures are being followed for changeover cleanings.
  • Manage the non-pathogen monitoring program.
  • Drive sanitation practices that produce safe quality products that meet regulatory and company requirements
  • Ensure the proper escalation of pest findings is done to the corporate sanitation team in accordance to the Procedure.
  • Work with Maintenance to ensure any pest control risk is mitigated
  • Review any new equipment prior to installation for conformance to sanitary design requirements.
  • Work with Engineering to improve existing equipment sanitary design.
  • Oversee and Coach Operations Teams on SSOPs to ensure all areas are cleaned per SSOP
  • Work within the Quality Department as a change agent for continuous improvement and sustainability of Food Safety and Quality practices.
  • Help conduct GMP audits as part of the GMP Auditing Team
  • Ensure all sanitation workers have the correct training, including procedure, chemical, GMP and safety training


    DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
    The ideal Sanitation Manager would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:


    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Experience with Sanitation Systems in a Food Processing Plant (required)
    • Prior experience managing Direct Reports and Sanitation Programs (required)
    • Experience with SAP (preferred)
    • Strong Continuous Improvement mindset (required)
    • Strong Computer (MS Office) and Communication skills (Oral and Written)
    • Excellent Time Management, Prioritization and Organizational Skills
    • Flexibility is required: able to work weekends and off-hours as needed to ensure team s capabilities
