Summary This role has accountability for all aspects of Customer
Development Capabilities and Support areas, including Customer
Planning and Investment. These groups are in support of ensuring
our customer teams build upon our Indispensable Partnerships,
driving profitability with customers and providing customer-facing
supply chain services. What You'll Do - Role & Responsibilities The
principal responsibilities of the Vice President, Sales Strategy &
Execution will include:
- Developing and communicating the strategic vision and direction
for the Customer Development (CD) organization that integrates KC
business plans and customer strategies
- Inspiring the Customer Development organization to levels of
continually excellent performance through capability development.
Identifying and developing clear "Right to Win" and "Right to Play"
capabilities in the areas of Field Sales and Sales & Operations
Planning
- Identifying strategic business opportunities within or across
the business sectors (Personal Care, Family Care)
- Serving as chief of staff to the Customer Development (CD)
President and creating and managing Customer Development Leadership
Team (CDLT) meeting agendas. Establishing and aligning CDLT on the
strategic initiative priorities and roadmap for success
- Serving as key CD interface with other Kimberly-Clark North
America (KCNA) Strategy leads to maintain alignment and
opportunities for continuous improvement
- Leading cross-business project teams in support of delivering
key strategies
- Fostering a spirit of continuous innovation by ensuring
customer needs and insights are well communicated and visible.
Backing the Customer deeper into the KC business planning
process
- Developing future business leaders - not only direct reports -
but deeper in the organization as well. Owning the Training and
Capability Platform for the Customer Development Organization
- Directing departmental financial budgeting to provide strategic
investments for operations and projects. Preparing financial budget
proposals for fund endorsements and formulation of projects
- Ensuring K-C attracts, develops and retains best talent, and
fosters an environment which motivates diverse teams. Persuasively
influencing talent to fully use capabilities in achieving desired
superior business results, and being recognized as role model
leaders by customers
- Providing high quality strategic feedback and mentoring to
directors and team members Professional Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will have the following key qualifications and
skills:
- 15+ years' experience managing financial budgeting, project,
and risk, along with experience in direction of business
operations, policies, and department performance
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
- Proven cost reduction in appraising departmental
performance
- Strong analytical skills and financial acumen with experience
in quantitative business analyses
- Experience leading transformational change
- Knowledge of field sales, trade promotion design and control,
order to cash, product supply and demand planning preferred
- Knowledge of channel and sales strategy is a plus Critical
Leadership Capabilities -Demonstrated ability to:
- Lead overall sales strategy and assess business views
strategically
- Lead in an aggressive change environment
- Develop strong sustainable relationships throughout the
organization
- Adapt and support the organization through times of change
- Understand and react to recent sales strategy trends and
develop organizational capability accordingly
- Analyze, establish, and manage SG&A budget with financial
acumen
- Precisely and proficiently conduct business and data analyses
with data-driven recommendations for improvements and
advancements
- Clearly communicate orally and in writing to individuals and
groups
- Precisely communicate innovative business solutions to
customers Location The VP, Sales Strategy & Execution role will
ideally be based in our Chicago, IL office, with some flexibility
to be based in Midwest/East locations/time zones. Must be able to
