The HIM Manager monitors compliance with key HIM indicators to
maintain enterprise objectives. Set and enforce policies,
procedures, and guidelines ensuring timely and accurate operations.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement
standards for data content, data mapping, and documentation within
the organization to support quality data and accurate coding for
payment purposes. Investigate issues surrounding data variability
to quantify their impact and identify solutions
Monitor data and metric reports and react appropriately to ensure
departmental goals are achieved
Contribute to design, implementation, training, and ongoing
evaluation of Electronic Health Records (EHR) which support
collection of high-quality data at the point of care. Lead
abstracting and retrieval of medical data used for evaluation,
planning or research in health care and health-related programs
Seek to understand disagreements, ensure all perspectives are heard
and facilitate a plan for resolution. Delegate the work
appropriately, provide clear expectations and follow up to ensure
progress and overcome roadblocks. Identify associates and team
priorities based on business direction and adjust when needed. Lead
by example and share knowledge and experiences with associates and
team. Create a respectful work environment where you advocate for
your team, create accountability and recognize their
accomplishments. Provide timely feedback to encourage success,
ensure accountability, and connect opportunities for your
associates' development. Identify the right talent to achieve the
desired results. Promote and build a diverse cohesive team to
accomplish objectives and align associates' skills to fill
gaps.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
--- Coordinate with the HIM team in the operations of daily job
responsibilities
--- Develop, recommend, and oversee the implementation and
administration of policies and procedures of respective area
--- Evaluate process and procedures and coordinate with the
management team to ensure efficient areas of focus and adhere to
federal and local laws and regulations
--- Demonstrate, through plans and actions, a consistent standard
of excellence to which all department work is expected to
conform
--- Focus on continuous improvement working with the Senior Manager
and respective teams Managers across the Health System with a goal
of delivering the highest degree of quality service possible
--- Provide support for Human Resource guidance
--- Complete, review, manage and monitor department budget
--- Directs and leads the patient access team in the daily
operations
--- Performs other duties as assigned
REQURIED SKILLS:
--- Effective and efficient organization and planning skills with
the proven ability to manage complex multi-workstream performance
improvement projects or multiple concurrent client engagements,
while delegating and overseeing the work of junior team members
--- Proven analytical and critical thinking skills required to
synthesize complex data sets and interpret qualitative and
quantitative data and trends to implement recommendations resulting
in measurable performance improvement and successful organizational
change
--- Impactful and professional written and verbal communication set
clear project team direction, develop key deliverables, escalate
risks, and influence key stakeholders inclusive of client and
internal senior leadership
--- Ability to collaborate with team members and client
counterparts to understand business challenges, adapt
implementation methodologies and approaches to ensure results align
with client's business objectives
--- Team leadership experience including building talent, training,
supervising, coaching/mentoring, and performance
managementQualificationsRequired:
- U.S. work authorization is required
- BA/BS in Nursing with certifications in one of the following:
CCDS, CPHQ, CCS
- Specialized skills in one or more of the following areas:
Clinical Documentation Improvement, Case - - Management and
HIM/Coding
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a project-based
operations performance improvement role within a hospital/clinical
setting hospital and/or consulting firm environment focused on
healthcare provider operations and/or process re-engineering
projects
- Minimum 1 year of experience managing major projects for large,
complex healthcare organizations with multiple stakeholders
- Willingness and ability to travel every week
(Monday-Thursday)Eligible for incentive compensationThe estimated
salary range for this job is $80,000 - $110,000. The range
represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably
expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. -The
actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple
factors, including but not limited to specific skills or
certifications, years of experience, market changes and required
travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron's annual
incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron's pay for
performance philosophy and Huron's benefit plans which include
medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs.
The salary range information provided is in accordance with
applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that
are currently in effect and may be implemented in the
