Job Description
Grant Thornton LLP is seeking multiple Directors, ESG &
Sustainability to oversee independent research to develop a deep
understanding of business risks and opportunities posed by
sustainability or environmental, social and governance (ESG)
matters. Lead sustainability reporting readiness assessments that
understand existing corporate activities and identify necessary
supplemental processes, information systems, procedures, and
controls needed to achieve desired outcomes. Lead advisory
engagements including planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, and
reporting. Lead external and internal training and thought
leadership on sustainability topics. Develop training programs
where appropriate. Maintain active communication with clients to
manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, and lead change efforts
effectively. Oversee quality and delivery of any client facing
deliverable, project, or communication. Delegate responsibilities
to subordinate team members as appropriate. Lead proposals and
business development activities. Manage firm risk on proposals.
Responsible for profitability, timing, and execution of client
facing and internal engagements. Adhere to the highest degree of
professional standards, manage firm risk on engagements, and
maintain strict client confidentiality. Identify new project
opportunities for existing client relationships. Actively promote
the company brand and personal brand through the development of
thought leadership content, presentations, and conference
attendance. 25% travel to client sites as needed. Work at various
unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. May work remotely.
Job Requirements:
Employer requires a Master's degree in Public Administration,
Sustainability, Economics, Political Science, Political
Development, or related field, or the foreign degree equivalent,
and 2 years of relevant experience such as a Senior Associate,
Associate, or alternate acceptable related occupation. Work or
academic experience must have included: strategy design, reporting,
and sustainability risk management; GHG emissions, water, and waste
accounting; data and quantitative experience with data aggregation,
analytics, visualization, and reporting; sustainability reporting
standards and frameworks such as GRI, CDP, SASB, IIRC, or TCFD; and
designing change management plans.
Job Locations:
171 N. Clark Street, Suite 200, Chicago, IL 60601. 25% travel to
client sites as needed. Work at various unanticipated locations
throughout the U.S. May work remotely.
