Job Description**We are seeking a Large Loss Manager to join our team! Job Summary:
Serve as a manager in the Large Loss Unit. Responsible for the appropriate resolution of the Claim Department's highest exposure and complex claims with primary focus on the maximizing of internal resources to attain quality and good faith claims handling in a cost-effective manner. Work closely with the operational leadership, audit and training managers to assure the existence and execution of high-quality casualty process and standards. Responsible for embedding a strategy focused on proactive handling and prompt conclusion with the appropriate identification, methods, analysis and resolution of personal lines and commercial injury claims.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct management and oversight of a team large loss adjusters
Provide guidance, mentoring, and counseling on policy and coverage interpretation and serve as subject matter expert for complex and high exposure injury claims.
Ensure that claims are handled consistent with state legal and regulatory requirements and the company's Claims Handling Guidelines and Litigation Management Guidelines
Reviews coverage, liability, and damages on highly complex cases referred for authorization and collaborates with other members of large loss and field leadership regarding feedback and direction
Reviews and triages incoming referrals to the large loss organization and directly interacts with our field partners to provide coaching and feedback
Supports the Field with discretionary referrals on complex coverage issues and engages Home Office Claim litigation for involvement and direction as needed
Performs monthly file reviews/audits on their team's file that will act as a major basis of quality reporting for the organization.
Confirm that the current metrics that are being utilized to manage and monitor bodily injury claims handling are appropriate
Measure and analyze metrics on an ongoing basis; where positive trends are identified, leverage those to drive best practices on the team. If negative trends are identified, works with appropriate team members and/or peers to implement necessary corrective action.
Collaborate with appropriate team members to document best practice in the Claims Handling Guidelines, which will be the repository of standardized file handling procedures throughout the department
Drive positive behaviors and outcomes as related to current metrics
Measure and analyze metrics on an ongoing basis; where positive trends are identified, leverage those to develop department best practices. Where negative trends are identified, works with the operational leadership, auditing and training managers to identify reasons and implement corrective action
Work with all subject matter experts, partners and national experts to best understand trends and dynamics to best drive performance

Preferred Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
10 or more years of related experience in a personal lines and casualty insurance company
Prior experience in managing bodily injury/large loss/litigation claims in preferred
Demonstrate expert knowledge of claims policies and procedures for resolving complex and/or litigated claims
Proven success in bodily injury claims handling, specifically in the areas of damage evaluation, workflow, and trends
High degree of initiative, mature judgment, and discretion
Ability to resolve conflicts and empathize with others
Familiarity with high level negotiating of complex and high exposure claims
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Comfort and skill with public speaking and presentation
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Multi-State Adjuster license preferred. Obtain/maintain appropriate licenses as required.

Applies knowledge of problem-solving and preparation of complex reports for analysis
Works within complex assignments requiring specialized knowledge in breadth and/or depth in area of expertise
