Job Description:
Scion Executive Search (SES) has been exclusively retained by
Leaders Igniting Transformation (LIT) to conduct an immediate
search for (2) civically active Co-Executive Directors. LIT
provides a unique opportunity in a multiracial, youth-led
organization committed to cultivating local leadership, expanding
access and opportunity, and advancing a more equitable society.
These full-time, on-site leadership opportunities are located in
Milwaukee, WI, offers an annual salary up to $135,000 DOE and a
robust benefits package.About Leaders Igniting Transformation
(LIT):LIT is building the next generation of leaders of color and
actively working to make sure our voices are heard in the decisions
that impact us and our communities. We do this by fostering the
resilience and excellence of Black and Brown youth and engaging our
youth members through year-round leadership development, advocacy,
and civic engagement opportunities.RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operations & SupportOversee the daily operations of the
business to ensure LIT's sustainability.Ensure alignment and
progress supervision of staff, ensuring they have the resources,
guidance, and feedback needed to perform at their best.Manage the
full scope of hiring and termination processes, including
recruitment, orientation, and employee retention.Conduct regular
staff evaluations to identify professional development needs,
organize staff retreats, and create improvement plans for
underperforming employees.Collaborate with the organizing and
communications teams to track, analyze, and report on program
outcomes through grant reports and donor communications.
- Vision ImplementationAssist staff and board in developing and
executing an annual work plan for both individuals and the
organization.Ensure the effective implementation of the 5-year
strategic vision, with clear benchmarks and measurable
progress.Oversee the coordination of major projects and programs
across the organization.Work with the Leadership Team to help shape
and execute policy platforms and campaigns.Establish feedback
mechanisms to ensure the organization can adapt its strategies and
goals in response to changes and challenges.
- Political EngagementCultivate strategic relationships with key
elected officials, community leaders, school leaders, partners,
media, and thought leaders to advance the organization's
mission.Collaborate with the Organizing Director and local/national
partners to develop a political engagement strategy that boosts
voter turnout and supports the organization's agenda.Work with the
Board, Leadership Team, and members to create and implement a
strategic endorsement process that raises the organization's
visibility and supports its goals.
- Fundraising & Financial ManagementLead the development and
implementation of the organization's annual budget.Oversee the
creation of the annual fundraising and development plan.Collaborate
with the accountant, staff, and board to monitor the budget,
ensuring financial stability and providing updates to the board on
fiscal health.Drive research and relationship-building efforts to
capitalize on new funding opportunities.Take a leading role in
outreach and grant writing, while delegating tasks like proposal
writing and reporting when appropriate.Build and nurture
relationships with major donors, foundations, and other funding
organizations to secure long-term financial support.Increase
organizational visibility and promote LIT's values through
relationship-building, speaking engagements, board memberships, and
other external activities.
- Leadership & AccountabilityProviding ongoing feedback, support,
and troubleshooting to ensure effective management of field staff
and execution of responsibilities.Consult with the board to
develop, monitor, and update operational standards, including the
employee handbook.Oversee the annual performance review process to
ensure staff are meeting work plan objectives and receiving fair
compensation and benefits.Ensure legal compliance for the
organization, seeking expert advice and board input as
needed.Uphold and promote Leaders Igniting Transformation's core
values and culture across the organization.
- Communications & External LeadershipReview and approve external
communications, including press releases, media advisories, email
newsletters, and social media content.Cultivate relationships with
key elected officials, community leaders, school leaders, media,
and thought leaders to further LIT's mission and public
presence.COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:LIT offers a competitive base
salary in addition to 401k (up to 4% match), cell and Wi-Fi
stipend, medical, dental, and vision, 21 days of PTO and 11 paid
holidays, winter break is December 21-January 3, medical subsidy of
