Events & Appeals Manager

Position Highlights:
Under the direction of the President of the Woman's Board, the Appeals and Events Manager is responsible for assisting the Woman's Board event and appeals Chairs with the planning and executing all of the external and internal fundraising events to raise approximately $2.0 M per year.
The Woman's Board is the longest standing women's hospital auxiliary group in Chicago and supports the goals and priorities of the Rush University Medical Center. The individual who holds this position exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
The Manager will serve as a primary support to Event or Appeal Chairs and engage in venue selections, event committee coordination and communications, and all logistics of the event planning and execution, including vendor contracts, tickets reports and marketing materials. This includes all our current events, such as the Spring Luncheon, Fall Benefit, Annual Appeal and Tribute Tree, and any potential new events.
Additionally, the Manager will assist the Vice President of Fundraising, the President, Event Chairs and designated Philanthropy liaison in identifying and seeking corporate sponsorship for the Woman's Board events.

Position Responsibilities:
Prepares event budgets with support from event Chairs and tracks outcomes to budgets.
Assists in identifying and seeking corporate sponsorship for Woman's Board events.
Helps in developing raffle packages and in selling program book ads.
Oversees the development of all printed materials, including invitations, program book, tickets and signage.
Works collaboratively with the Woman's Board to seek media relations, advertising and marketing of events.
Updates and monitors the Woman's Board social media presence and content.
Oversees gift processing, including but not limited to mail processing, database entry and maintenance, and oversight of secure and accurately accounted bank deposits.
Shares office administrative tasks with the Membership and Operations Manager.
Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications Include:
Bachelor's degree required.
A minimum of two years of event oversight and volunteer management experience in a non-profit setting required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong analytic and organizational skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects with overlapping deadlines and respond to shifting priorities.
Resourceful approach and strong problem solving competency.
Collaborative philosophy.
Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization with poise and professionalism.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, QuickBooks, and Raisers' Edge 7 preferred.
Demonstrated project management acumen.
